Joe Satriani sues Coldplay for plagiarism

Featured Replies

If Rob Van Winkle was innocent, I don't see Coldplay losing this one.

I'll never understand that one.

I agree. It seems like a pretty strong precedent.

Satriani has filed a lawsuit against Coldplay for plagiarism. Coldplay's new hit song "Viva La Vida" is eerily similar to Satriani's "If I Could Fly."

Take a listen/look at this YouTube video and tell me what you think.

Personally, I despise Coldplay and hope they end up paying out the butt.

Yep, Coldplay is guilty. Also, Satriani is actually talented. They are not.

I gotta admit Jim, I've been waiting to see what you had to say about this one.

If it is any band you have heard of Jim hates it. Well except Garth Brooks.

Howard Stern was talking about this today. He said that Satriani should utilize the quote from Martin from '05. I don't know the exact quote but it was something like, "we aren't that talented but we are good at plagiarism.

I actually have to take up for Jim guys. I think he has excellent musical taste.

We actually share a few bands that we both enjoy that are lesser known.

Plus he's a Skynyrd/Southern Rock fan and that's good enough for me
