Kind of a surprising score if you ask me. Rowan is very young and Fleming has alot of talent back from a pretty good team.

Both teams going to get alot better.

I'm not sure where this myth of Rowan's "young" team originated. Obviously Wireman and others have not really done their homework on Rowan County.

 

I'm not going to scout the team for anybody, but Coach Thacker started three seniors, one junior, and one freshman. I suggest that Wireman and others who want to know something about Rowan County should actually go watch them play.

Calm down Ron. We probably will get a chance to watch them at some point in the season. Don't jump us already. They've only had one game.

Oh yeah, and the "myth" as you call it probably originated from the 5-6 basketball previews I have read - all of which mentioned the word YOUNG when talking about Rowan County.

I think you'll find as the season progresses, many sophs and freshman will join the rotation. Morrison and Duff will be starters all year long...maybe Sargent at the point when he gets more practice time. When Cross' ankle heals he'll be in the rotation, playing big minutes, and he's a sophomore. One of the seniors that started last night has been away from the game for a couple of years. I think if some of you will look at the roster, its underclassman heavy (freshmen and sophomores).

That is my take on the Vikings. They may have started 3 seniors to open the season, but their talented players are all younger players (or at least that's what every person I've read or talked to has commented on).

33-31 in rebounds; that's not exactly getting dominated. But they did get outshot, outhustled, and out coached, IMO.

Who knows how this season will turn out. And it's not the preview person's job to mention players solely because they are seniors. You discuss the best talent and the up and coming talent, not players just because they are a senior.
