Rank the NFL Wide Receivers

Featured Replies

Rank the NFL Wide Receivers in terms of who you would want on your team right now. Take into account deep throws, over the middle, blocking, off-field issues, injury etc., but don't consider age (i.e. saying you'd want someone because they have a value over a longer period of time).

Here is mine (with little thought, may revise later):

1. Randy Moss

2. Steve Smith

3. Reggie Wayne

4. Terrell Owens

5. Larry Fitzgerald

6. Anquan Boldin

7. Hines Ward

8. Braylon Edwards

9a. Greg Jennings

9b. Andre Johnson

Tough to leave guys like Plaxico, #85, TJ, Roy Williams, Brandon Marshall, and Calvin Johnson off the list. Then you have "newcomers" (for either young players or players showing consistency for the first time) like Roddy White, Lance Moore, Lee Evans, and Eddie Royal as well.

Who you got?

This is how I feel... I'm sure lots disagree with this list though. I think higher of a lot of guys than some people, and I think lower of a lot of guys than some people...

1. Randy Moss

2. Larry Fitzgerald

3. Steve Smith

4. Anquan Boldin

5. Reggie Wayne

6. Terrell Owens

7. Greg Jennings

8. Hines Ward

9. Andre Johnson

10. Braylon Edwards

I think Larry Fitzgerald is #1. I also think Braylon Edwards drops too many balls to make my top 10. I think Reggie Wayne is #2. But this is difficult to make. It may take more thought. I have 20% of my list done so far!

1. Randy Moss

2. Larry Fitzgerald

Its too hard for me to rank the rest.

I'd put TJ in there somewhere. His numbers won't be as good this year for obvious reasons, but he is a tough receiver with great hands that isn't afraid to go over the middle. I'd pull Edwards out of the mix. And possibly Jennings, and replace him with Calvin Johnson. His numbers would also be unreal if he had a decent QB.

Hard to argue against Greg Jennings...he's been a stud.

12 TD's last year. 7 more this year to go with 1057 yards and 16.5 per catch.

Edwards has struggled this year for sure, but we saw what he was capable of last year...almost 1300 yards and 16 TD. Johnson is on pace for similar yardage with less TD's this season. I could see choosing either of them and I don't think either has really separated himself...

But, Jennings has to be rated above them both at this point. If Greg Jennings was 6'5" and 230 pounds people would love him...he may not be the physical freak that some of the other guys are, but he gets it done consistently.

1. Boldin

2. Moss

3. Fitz

4. A. Johnson

5. Smith

6. T.O.

7. Calvin Johnson

8. Greg Jennings

9. B. Marshall

10. Cotchery or Wayne

I think AJ has to be top 2 or 3....

I did say take into account injuries- in terms of talent, I don't think anyone has him but Moss and Smith.

No love for Steve Smith?

No love for Steve Smith?

I'd put him at #11. He doesn't score many TD's and going by your first post, with off field issues, I wouldn't want him on my team anyways. The guy is a jerk and a half.
