Christian County 16 Owensboro 0

Final

So much for my fluke comment. I can't believe how dominating Christian County's defense was in this one. I do have my doubts about them against John Hardin, but still, this was a superb performance.

WOW! Listening to the O'boro faithful, I thought this was a lock for them.

To summarize Owensboro = Notre Dame against Boston College. I don't think they ever even got off the bus tonight. Just horrible.

Losing to Christian in the regular season and putting them on the road 2 weeks in a row against 2 pretty good teams was probably a lot to ask of the YOUNG Devils.

It's one thing to get beat, quite another to not even show up. Tackling was very poor the entire night. Owenboro's first 1st down occurred with 33 seconds left in the third quarter. Take away one long pass play late in the game and Christian Co. would have had more points than Owensboro had total yards. This was embarrasing to watch.

:thumb:And I'll add that Christian Co. played some inspired football tonight, credit their coaching staff and players.

All in all not a bad season for a very young Owensboro Sr. team. I have a feeling that this team will be one to reckon with in years to come.

This has got to be the worst offensive game I have seen out of the Devils all year. It looked like CC knew every play call that OHS tried on them. Hats off to CC totally dominant tonight.

OHS did not do many of the things that were successful against BG I felt maybe we should have put Shemwell under center early to get him going. CC was keying on him and early the game was sloppy both ways many turnovers like nobody wanted the ball. OHS defense held the 2nd half and kept CC scoreless but the offense wasn't there all night long.

Well I feel for our seniors they are going to be missed. You guys had a wonderful career. One plus is we return several starters and I am sure they will be working hard in the off-season and be back and ready to make a go of it again next year. You guys have nothing to hang your heads about this year accomplished many things just fell a little short of where you wanted.

Good Luck to all the teams left!:fire:

Thought that Owensboro would win this one I know that Christian Co has a good team also. It looks like the Red Devil offense didn't show up tonight.

I would like to say congrats to Christian County. It seems they had Owensboro on the ropes from the start. To be honest, I am more stunned at how bad Owensboro played in this game than I was that Owensboro blew the 20 point lead in the first game. I have to say Owensboro looked really bad and yes Christian County had a whole lot to do with that as something was just not right with the whole game for Owensboro. Owensboro could not do anything right or Christian could do everything right. I mean 16-0 at half you would think the Devils would have been more efficient in the second half, but again Christian County just steamrolled Owensboro. Owensboro will regroup for next year and be back, but this is one that Owensboro fans will remember for a long time. Again congrats to Christian, you earned and deserve this win.:thumb:

Ouch

Give credit where credit is due...to coach Steve Lovelace. He made some adjustments to the Colonel D and Owensboro didn't know what to do. Unless you knew what County switched to and had time to prepare for it in practice, it's very difficult to combat. I'm sure that if you asked the Owensboro staff they'd tip their cap to Coach Lovelace and the masterful strategy they employed last night. Great job Colonels and keep rolling next week against John Hardin!!!

Wow!! It's hard imagine Owensbore not having a first down till late in the 3rd quarter. Great job to the Colonels D. Christian County did switch some of their defense personel and played some forty but you would think Owensbore could adjust a little at this point of the year. To me Christian County played harder and wanted it more!

Congrats to Christian County. Hopefully we can cheer for each other in the Ville two weeks from today. Good luck against JH.
