The officiating crew was all you could hope for in a regional title game. It was a good, clean & hard-hitting game without the extra-curriculars that some crews seem to allow.

 

I suggest two teams playing clean (and hard-hitting) makes the official's job much easier.

 

Along with the officials, congrats to both teams playing a good clean football game. Though the result isn't what I hoped, this was between two respectful opponents.

I can tell you this, I have watched Corbin for the last 3 weeks and this is not going to be a walk in the park for NCC. Corbin has played 2 EXCELLENT teams this last 2 weeks and beat them easily. I do not think NCC has been hit this hard all season, Corbin is a run it down your throat type offense and Watkins and Cambell will do exactly that! Corbin, I was against you 2 weeks ago, now I am saying bring the gold back to the mountains!

No one should ever sell Corbin short. The atmosphere is great for high school football, and their fans are great. Teams like Corbin and Belfry have proven they can be competitive NKY football. That said, you are sadly mistaken if you believe for a moment that NCC hasn't seen anyone as physical as Corbin. NCC's schedule is tough, and they beat 3 6A opponents(Simon Kenton is in 6A semi; NCC beat them soundly), and they beat Beechwood. NCC is very physical, and anyone who has seen them play knows it.

I think he is referring to a tradition of smash mouth football and not much finesse from the mountain area. New Cath is no doubt a very fine football team and has been for many years. Corbin will bring a slightly different approach to the contest and one the Breds will certainly step up and challenge. It should be a fine game this season as it was last year when the Breds came out on top. I would expect a nice crowd on hand Friday to support the Hounds. Many former players will be on hand to rally the Redhounds to the next round. If Corbin can manage the clock and move the chains they could pull this one out. In this game, a good offense could be the best defense for the Red and White.
