Wow thought Estill would have made this one closer.

 

The halftime score was 19-7. Estill gets the ball at the beginning of the 3rd quarter and puts together a long drive only to stall out deep in Breathitt territory, dropped a TD pass on 4th down. At the end of the 3rd quarter the score was still 19-7 and then Breathitt went on a 4th quarter scoring frenzy much like in the Harlan County game scoring 20 points in the 4th quarter. Good luck next week Bobcats and great season for the Estill County Engineers!

The Engineers had a great season and I was shocked at this score. It seemed alot like last weeks game against us (Harlan Co.) In a blink of an eye, Breathitt put a bunch of points on the board. I thought that Estill was gonna take over in the 3rd when they controlled the ball for the first 9 minutes or so.

Two things really turned this game MB. The decision to go for it on 4th and 4 at the 50 with about 5 minutes to go in the half for Estill and not making it and giving Breathitt a short field and a little over 4 minutes to score. If Estill punts and holds then at the half it's a 13-7 game and Estill gets the ball back. The second thing that killed Estill was driving all the way down the field and then dropping the wide open pass in the endzone that would have made it 19-14 at the end of the third. Seems like Estill just got the air taken out of them after these back to back disappointments. Game was closer than the score indicated, but Breathitt is a quality team and Fugate is just a man among boys, he literally picks that Bobcat team up and carries them on his back.

Great season by the Engineers though and hope they can keep it going. If I'm not mistaken, Estill is 21-4 over the past two years , losing to Breathitt all four times.

Good win for Breathitt but now they will play the only real football team all year, and this will hurt once again.

Hey, if Pikeville is the only alternative, you'll get no argument from me...:lol:

 

In my years of watching Breathitt, where the game is played never seemed to make a difference. When they've had the better teams, they've won, regardless of where the games were played...and when they haven't, they haven't.

 

There have been a few exceptions, but for the most part, I think Breathitt has always travelled well...and they've been beat on their home field a few times as well. (The only time I can remember us losing with a team that was clearly better was in 1997.)

 

However, it sure would be nice to drive 25 minutes to the game instead of 2.5 hours.

I thinK it would be better for the fans to set under covered stands they have the stands across field but they also have a place next to the locker room in the stands no one realy knows about.

How many kids does Estill lose from this team?

 

I believe 13 seniors, all started or played a lot. It will be a totally different lineup next year, every senior I believe was lost on offense and 1 or 2 may be back on defense. Those guys played for 4 years and started most of the time all 4 years.

How many kids does Estill lose from this team?

 

11 seniors, 10 of which played all four years, one came out his senior year. We will lose 10 starters on offense, and 8 on defense.
