November 24, 200817 yr When Brady went down, the questions immediately began...now we'll find out if Belichick is really that good. Many people began bringing up non-Brady records to show that Belichick and the Patriots were doomed without him. Now that Cassel has had two consecutive great games and the Pats are in the playoff hunt at 7-4, the argument has flipped. Now Brady is a system QB and anyone could succeed there... Is it possible, that both Brady and Belichick are very, very good at what they do? In fact, not just good, but two of the best ever at what they do? And, combined, they both make each other look even better, like good coach/QB combos have often done in the league's history? Sheez. Well said, not to mention that many people are overlooking the fact that Cassel went to USC on a full football scholarship...I mean it's not like the guy was someone they just picked up off the streets. It's not his fault he got stuck behind Palmer and Leinart...

It's not his fault he got stuck behind Palmer and Leinart... And that this is his 4th year with the team, so he knows the offense.
November 25, 200817 yr Author Some of you guys are putting up good arguments. Now answer this - Would the Mannings, Favre, Warner, McNabb, have won 3 SB in the system? What about the next level of QB's? Romo, Culpepper, Pennington, Palmer, Brees,?

Romo, Culpepper, Pennington, Palmer, Brees,? The answer is no, to all of those. No other QB would have been able to win 3. Manning, Favre, and maybe Warner would have won 1, 2 at the max. McNabb, Romo, Culpepper, Pennington (are you serious?), Palmer, Brees would be lucky to get 1.
November 25, 200817 yr Author What kind of next level is this? Romo and Brees in the same category as Pennington and Culpepper.... Culpepper when healthy, according to many on here 3 years ago was an elite QB and Pennington has won more games than the other 2, and Pennington's 65.8 career completion percentage ranks best all-time of those with more than 1500 pass attempts.

When he threw for 6 TD's and 12 INT's? You probably meant 4 years ago, and Culpepper was a product of having Randy Moss at WR. Since Moss Culpepper has done NOTHING...
November 25, 200817 yr On a related note, did Tom Brady make Charlie Weis, or did Charlie Weis make Tom Brady?
November 25, 200817 yr On a related note, did Tom Brady make Charlie Weis, or did Charlie Weis make Tom Brady? Tom Brady made Weis without question IMO.
November 25, 200817 yr It's both. The Patriot system is a qb's dream, much as the Bronco's system was a perfect fit for Elway and San Francisco was for Montana. Brady is also a big reason for the success imo. I have watched him for years and one thing that has always amazed me is his ability to be so incredibly calm under fire. I have seen him get pummeled one series only to come back the next and shred the defense. He is one of the coolest customers I've ever seen at qb.
November 26, 200817 yr Culpepper??? Really?? This is not the year 2000... In the year two thouuuuuuusand... *Said in high pitch voice while holding a flash light under my chin*
