His child like antics are getting old. It's not true. Jurich did ban 93.9 from talking to Howie Lindsay and all those folks, and he has that prerogative. The sports format getting pulled? Not at all.

Please clarify what this means. I was under the impression that 93.9 was permitted no access to any and all things official from UofL in order to help out WKRD which, while he does have that prerogative, is very bush league and small-townish. And while it may have been a decision from on high to make the switch, you can't say this extreme limitation of access to sources didn't help nudge 93.9 out of the market, or at the very least make it difficult to compete.

It will be an oldies station tomorrow. Well, if it has to be, it has to be. At least we're getting an oldies station. The powers that be murdered the best radio in town when they dropped the oldies format 103.1 WRKA earlier in the year in favor of top 40 Country music. Is it any wonder I hate the radio?

November 20, 200817 yr For the record, I'll like an oldies station. We need a sports talk station, but I only listened to about half the folks 93.9 had on the air. Some of the shows were so-so at best. That being said, it is pretty sad when the "16th largest city in the U.S." :lol: has only one sports talk station and it is, for all intents and purposes, run by the university. As bad as some 93.9 shows were, at least they didn't involve the field hockey coach doing a 20 minute segment.

November 20, 200817 yr Jurich is an extremely small fish when it comes to Cumulus...believe me. And for those that think that U of L owns WKRD, you are wrong, I have been on the air there more than a few times, and you are given carte blanche. Unless you go out with an intent to perform defamation on the University, you can openly criticize anything you want, including Tom's decisions.
