Two Questions...Let's have some fun.

1)So how does one of the lowly, or above, underdog teams in the state knock off one of the big dogs in the 2nd round? What's it take?

2)Is there a potential of this happening in any of the matchups this weekend???

Always a chance....

There is always the potential for an upset. Extreme weather, illness, injury, turnovers, etc... can make a mismatch a close game. That's why they play the game on the field and not on the stats sheet.

It just takes a team (unerdog) that has the potential, guts, and determination to win. It isn't always that an underdog played extremely well, sometimes the higher seed just doesn't play well enough to win. Football is a complicated game, injuries can play a part, motivation, mindset, or just shear determination can all cause a game to end in ways that was unexpected. To win, a team has to come to win.

Always. There is always a potential for any team to win. That is what is so exciting about high school sports, football in particular. You are not guaranteed a win, you have to come and execute. Sure, most of the time the higher seed wins, but it is not unheard of for a four seed to beat a one seed, I believe it happened several times last week. If a four seed can beat a one seed, then anything is possible this week.

Think back to some of the big upsets you have witnessed and you will usually find some common ground. Turnovers, special teams letdowns and turnovers.

Put in the A 11 offense.

It negates the big lineman advantage and makes all 11 players potential offensive weapons.

Now Jimmy, that's questionable Kool-Aid you're peddling.

Stirring the pot has its limitations.

1) Score more points:D

1)In all honesty it could happen if:

A) The favorite comes in overconfident looking forward to a rival matchup "next week" and the underdog stays close and in the end anything can happen.

B) Untimely injuries or suspensions to key players in key positions

C) Turnovers

2) it has about the same chance of happening as say Villinova beating Georgetown in basketball a few years ago. Its not likely but its possible.

I can see Pulaski upsetting Whitley. ( I do not think of PC as lowly however)

The games I have seen / know about this year where a team tried to utilize this concept --they could not pull it off. I am sure said team felt like they had no choice. But if you can not do it effectively --it usually backfires. IMHO
