November 16, 200817 yr NFL overtime is horrible. It was cold. Thought for sure that Bengals were going to take a knee in OT and just run the clock out. The Bengals went for it on 4th and 16 from the Philly 33. If you can't make a FG from there, then you HAVE to punt it. Both punters were very active. 20+ punts in the game. Both punters were very poor, too. Some of the roughing the passer calls are questionable. I wouldn't go as far as Polamalu and call it a "pansy game", but his statement has some credence... 3 losses since the last Bengals L.
November 16, 200817 yr The epitome of horrible football. Any Reid will be crucified in Philly:lol::lol: I was on the sidelines for this one and in the visitor's tunnel after the game. Let's just say the Philly fans didn't exactly say things to Reid that could be said on here. BTW the Bengals play calling was HORRIBLE in this game.
November 16, 200817 yr Well I can't say anymore that I was at the last tie game in the NFL... I Can, Im deforsting now, my question is, has Graham ever hit an important field goal in his life. The Bengals defense played well today.
November 16, 200817 yr Author Yes the NFL overtime is horrible, but let's not get too wound up about this....A tie in the NFL is very rare and before today hadn't happened in the last 6 years...There had been 9 NFL games thus far in the season so you're looking at 1 in the last 65-70 OT games... I think the NFL will be okay.
November 16, 200817 yr NFL Overtime is a joke. I sat in the freezing cold for 4 hours to have it end like that. :madman:
November 17, 200817 yr Any word on Antonio Chatman? It was a very strange play. I didn't see Chatman move anything after the hit, and fear for the worst. Said a prayer for him while he was down, but it looked bad...
November 17, 200817 yr It looks like Chatman may be ok. They say his injury was "cervical" and that he has movement in both his arms & his legs. Preliminary tests returned normal. Great news...
November 17, 200817 yr TJ returned punts today after Chatman went down. That was very refreshing, and I expect #84 to be back there the rest of the year. He did well.

Said a prayer for him while he was down, but it looked bad... Chatman actually got up after the hit if I'm not mistaken. I believe he was helped up then fell back down. (I could be wrong though. I had several 6'4 280+ D-lineman that I couldn't see over :irked:) I believe taking him off on a stretcher was just being precautious given that he took a blow to the head.
November 17, 200817 yr Good to hear he is OK. It looked real bad when he was on the stretcher. He didn't move an inch.

I don't think Chatman got up at all.
November 17, 200817 yr This game reminded me of a scene in "Necessary Roughness" where Rob Schneider is the announcer of a football team that has lost every game so far and then they finally play to a tie. At the following week's game, Schneider announces "This team has a lot of confidence after last week's non-loss".
