I don't think a home game with Johnson Central is an option this year. HHS is in a travel year, so if these two meet as #1 teams, I believe it's there.

I like road trips. And gas prices are down for now.

 

I think Henry is banking on Cov-Cath going to Paintsville and pulling the upset. To me i don't think it would be an upset. It's Cov-Cath, and everybody knows what kind of playoff team Cov-Cath can be. Spoilers!!!!! I have seen Cov-Cath do it more than once in the past.

That would be fine with me, (and don't think I haven't given this possibility some thought. :ylsuper:) I'd happily give up my road trip for another HHS/CCHS playoff game.

Attendance is really down at Mayfield and I am sure that is due to the teams performance this year, well, I know it is based on what I have heard folks say. But the biggest disappointment to me this year is the student section, its pretty much non-existent at all games. I guess they too would be subject to the teams' performance, its just really a let down.

4 classes or six classes, that makes no difference. The economy does make a difference.

 

The biggest reason (s) I believe are distractions, these kids have way more things to do and the money to do them, than I did when I was in high school. Then, if your team is doing or did poorly, the attaendence would be down there as well.

I really haven't seen any drop off in attendance in North-Eastern Kentucky. I have seen some small traveling crowds, but the teams in this area always have good crowds.

 

You also need to remember, Raceland fans travel well, too. It is like UK basketball fans, we follow our team no matter where they play. We had more in attendance last year at Lexington Christian and it WAS their Homecoming game!

I think it has to do somewhat in NKY that such a large, and talented group of seniors graduated from the area and the expectations for the most part of the teams aren't as high, and most fans most likely wouldn't think the games were as exciting, that'd be one of my guesses?

It seems to me that the attendance at football game is becoming a reflection of the spirit of a community. We don't have the community closeness anymore. When our kids graduate neither they nor their parents ever come back on Friday night. To me that is very sad.

CovCath student attendance is down I would say 70%. That's the truth.

In Ohio the fans are not going to the games like they have in the past especailly the playoffs games. The playoff tickets are now 9 bucks. I think this is a big reason.
