November 7, 200817 yr Change, it is a comin'. President-elect Barack Obama's newly appointed chief of staff, Rahm Emanuel, served on the board of directors of the federal mortgage firm Freddie Mac at a time when scandal was brewing at the troubled agency and the board failed to spot "red flags," according to government reports reviewed by ABCNews.com. According to a complaint later filed by the Securities and Exchange Commission, Freddie Mac, known formally as the Federal Home Loan Mortgage Corporation, misreported profits by billions of dollars in order to deceive investors between the years 2000 and 2002. Emanuel was not named in the SEC complaint but the entire board was later accused by the Office of Federal Housing Enterprise Oversight (OFHEO) of having "failed in its duty to follow up on matters brought to its attention." November 7, 200817 yr Change, it is a comin'. Link Can you show me one thread where you linked Bush/Cheney to Haliburton or Blackwater? Just curious. I read several articles today regarding the new Chief of Staff and not one of them implicated him in any way. BTW how many years was he on the board and when was it.

November 7, 200817 yr What does Bush/Cheney have to do with this? If you don't like the article, take it up with ABC, I didn't write it. Why did you not quote this piece? The report also said board members appointed by the President, such as Emanuel, serve terms that are far too short "for them to play a meaningful role on the Board." The title of the thread implies that he did something wrong. The article does not, even says he was there too little time to do anything.

I provided the link, I don't post thinks thinking, "gee, will acemona be satisfied with this, should I look for more to make him feel OK?". The link was there, do your own work. By the way, it absolutly says "New Obama Chief of Staff, Others on Board, Missed "Red Flags" of Alleged Fraud Scheme". That ties him to it.

No satisfaction needed, just a little less hyperbole and little more honesty

Get ready, RTS, the response to the many upcoming scandals involving Obama and his staff will be met with the "everybody does it" defense that was employed so skillfully by Emanuel and others during the Clinton years.

November 8, 200817 yr Quite honestly Emanuel's past is mild compared to other Obama associates. If the ties to a radical preacher, a terriost, Al Sharpton, Jessee Jackson, and a militant Palistinian, didn't bother people surely Emanuel won't.

November 8, 200817 yr  I'm 100% convinced that you could post a link to an article that said Obama mass murdered 100 people, and Ace would still defend it....

If the ties to a radical preacher, a terriost, Al Sharpton, Jessee Jackson, and a militant Palistinian, didn't bother people surely Emanuel won't. You hit the bullseye. A majority of people don't care about this nonsense. But there are some that do and they will continue no matter what.
November 8, 200817 yr The report also said board members appointed by the President, such as Emanuel, serve terms that are far too short "for them to play a meaningful role on the Board." Don't let the facts bother you boys. Nothing here. The lemmings have won.
November 8, 200817 yr This column leaves out some of the nasty details of Rahm Emanuel's career but it should dispel the notion that there is anything bipartisan about the man. Hiring Emanuel shows Obama's hand If you hire a shark, does that make you a shark? If you send in an enforcer, are you, de facto, an enforcer, too? President-elect Barack Obama, practitioner of consensus and preacher of civility, made a singular statement by choosing Rep. Rahm Emanuel as his chief of staff, the first hire of the new administration. "Brilliant, hardworking, in some ways he may be a good yin to Obama's yang. But I was very surprised because he has a very different personality type from those around Obama," longtime Chicago political consultant Kitty Kurth said by phone Thursday. "I had first met Rahm after the '88 presidential campaign, on Mayor Daley's '89 mayoral race. He was always brilliant but a complete hardball player. The first six or seven times I met him, he never remembered who I was. . . . I never had anything he needed, so he didn't need to know who I was."
