The capitalist system is all about the accumulation of more. There is nothing Christian about it.

There is nothing Christian or non-Christian about any economic system. You cannot cite a single example of a socialist or fascist economy where there is or was less true poverty than there is in this country. Most of our "needy" people have televisions, video games, cell phones, and all sorts of luxuries. Those who have none of these luxuries are generally suffering from addiction or mental illness.

 

Those who are accepting taxpayer money while sitting at home treating themselves to the same luxuries as taxpayers enjoy are the greedy ones in this society. The people who expect an Obama led government to pay their mortgages and gasoline bills are the greedy ones.

I did not see one quote or one number that shows what percentage of those people on welfare actually abuse the system. There was not one. It talked about the 1.5 million children whose parents don't work or who have an absent father. I guess they should work and make the dad come home?? Pull themselves up by their bootstraps.

Deadbeat fathers and the women who hook up with them are abusing the system. Socialist policies encourage and breed dependency. You cannot blame all the poverty in the US on capitalism because many of those living below the poverty line are not engaged in capitalism.

I apologize to the moderators for posting off topic. I am finished with this thread until Emanuel begins showing us why Obama hired him.

It's amazing how much play this is getting. You guys realize he's just a glorified secretary, right? As soon as Obama appoints someone to his cabinet, this will be old news. I guess you've just got to have something to chew on until you can turn on his next appointment.

 

I seriously doubt anyone could tell me who Bush's current CoS is without looking it up.

To suggest that systems cannot sin for us is naive. I disagree with capital punishment and everytime it occurs by my government the system sins. A system that perpetuates the disparity between rich and poor sins for me as well.
