SvFan4life, you claim we don't support Obama because of his party affiliation or his race. That's because you've been listening too hard to his and the media's rhetoric. You can't allow for the fact that we so disagree with his stance on the issues and the policies he wants to implement that that is the reasons we can't support him. If he continues on the path he ran his campaign on, I can not offer one iota of support for him. If he moves toward center and comes up with some sensible ideas, then I can get on board.

Well first off, I don't get my opinions about politics from one network. I happen to listen too, watch or read several political opinions from a wide variety of sources. Everything I have heard about people not liking him is from people I have spoken too in person, not heard anything from him or any media outlets, so try again. If you are insinuating that it's only him and the media claiming that people will not vote for him because of race or party affiliation then you are joking yourself. I would love to see how many people voted straight democrat or straight republican.

 

And second, if you disagree so much with the presidency and want to ridicule someone who hasn't even taken office yet then why live in America? Yeah it's your choice and right too, but why be unhappy with how he'll run things? If you are that set on not liking him no matter what he does then why stay?

First - The people you're putting so much stock in is the few, the nut jobs, the bigots. The vast, and I mean vast majority of us that voted against Obama did so because of his policies and concepts he ran on. I too watch and read many sources for politics and I stand by my statement.

I have every intention of giving President Obama a fair chance to win me over. I will likely never agree with a lot of what he wants to do and a lot of what he will do... but that doesn't mean I have to hate him.

 

It's been interesting to note how many people I've heard make calls to unity and to support the future President and compare the overlap with those people in possession of "Not My President" stickers following the start of the Iraq war. Just sort of interesting.

When the WTO met in Seattle it wasn't young Neo-Reaganites out there chucking stuff at police officers. I'm not saying there would have been riots... but if you're going to pick a side much more likely to do so, all past evidence suggests that it would have been the liberals.
