I've been wondering this for quite a long time now....How is this man not in jail? How does he have a vote? He's an unrepented terrorist.

The reason is that the evidence linking him to the crimes was thrown out (illegal tapes of conversations I believe). Since noone was killed, the statute of limitations was up when he publicly admitted what he had done. That is my understanding of it. Also, the FBI operative that infiltrated the Weather Underground and was aware of the planning and reported their activities was never called to testify. I saw an interview with him, and to this day, he has no idea why his testimony was never used in the case against Ayers.

I agree, but that is the way it works. Not perfect by any means.

Agreed, but that's the drawback of living in a country with freedom of speech and freedom of expression, but, as you know, its better than the alternative.

What shocks me the most is the University of Chicago will give this nut ball a job knowing what he did. This man never paid for what he did and that is sad.

For the record, not defending him, but defending the justice system....he never paid because the investigators and prosecutors apparently did their jobs poorly. Blame them, not him.

I'm sorry, I misread/misunderstood your post.

 

I would think he loves this country as well. Where else in the world can you bomb the govenment, have them know where you are, brag about it and nothing can happen.

I can't answer for Rockmom, but the blame for the crime falls on Ayers, the blame for the inability to prosecute him properly does not.
