Interesting statistic on the radio show tonight... Mason now ties up the record of wins with Fleming Co. 16-16. In 1996 I think they said Fleming was 14-2 over Mason in the series.

Its time to make a run!!

Thompson had 190 rushing yd and a rushing TD.

He also had his first recieving TD of his career.

Fleming keeps shooting themselves in the foot. Too many personal foul penalties. And its every game like that. Not taking away anything from Mason cause they played well. Panthers get down to the 1 yard line and a personal foul moves them back to the 17 and then the Royals defense comes up big with 2 sacks of the Panthers huge quarterback.

Fleming County seems to get very frustrated when things don't go their way; I noticed the same thing in the Breathitt County game. Several penalties; not an over-abundance, but too many.

 

Panthers came out and stuffed the ball down the Royals' throat on the opening drive; MC adjusted after that and it was all Royals from then on. Congrats to Mason County on the win! Mason County rolls up over 400 yards of offense; Soph QB Pawsat with an efficient 9-13 for three TDs, Thompson with his usual stats. Even though he didn't score it, it was nice of Coach B to give Thompson credit for the success of the reverse than went for an early MC touchdown.

 

Congrats also to Westin Stahl for his 4th pick of the year; he now has an INT in three straight games.

I mentioned before the started and even after the Ashland scrimmage ( which was ugly ) that this team had the potential to be better than the 2007 Royals.

 

Maybe a lot of wishful thinking,.......and not many posters agreed.

 

But dreams DO come true !

 

They have improved each week.

I wouldn't have believed this before the season... The Royals team speed and conditioning has made up for potential short comings in other areas.

 

I agree that Fleming shot themselves in the foot too many times, especially with the personal fouls. The game could have been much closer.

Mason is starting to put it together
