You see, most public schools depend on federal dollars. And, as Obama elaborated in a speech last December, "At the middle and high school level, we'll make federal assistance conditional on school districts developing service programs, and give schools resources to offer new service opportunities."

This sounds sort of like a draft only nobody could possibly want to conscientiously object to performing service for the Obama cause, could they? I would not suspect that obama has the Catholic Model in mind.

Obama is the antio-christ, hilter, stalin,... he eats the old at night, destroys the constitution, the media is for him, our youth will listen to him instead of God, or parents... fear, fear, fear, fear.... no worse of a fear than someone saying "you are either with us or against us"

 

Come on folks, let us use a little common sense here. Not everyone is for or against us, no I don't think that Obama is the Anti-Christ, he may have different ideas than I do, but that is o.k., I will not be like some and think that my ideas are the best way.

Private school attendance is voluntary and not all private schools require service. A national security force as powerful and well financed as the military does not sound remotely like voluntary service in the private sector.

The crystal ball is history. There are precedents for national security forces in world history but the framers of our Constitution wisely did not provide for a national security force for this nation.

It has always been wise to overestimate rather than underestimate the opposition/enemy. I don't think it is wise for us to just pass off all of these legitimate concerns as overreaction and/or sour grapes. It pays to be cautious. No one really knows anything about obama mainly because he has operated pretty much in secret throughout his life. He has been greatly aided by his associates and the media.

 

Most of the concerns relate to statements made by him or his associates. Under the circumstances, any thinking person would have to be somewhat concerned. This was not a normal election and he was not a traditional candidate

I am not sure why you characterized my post as "going off" but I was also making a very transparent statement. Having the federal government compel young adults to serve in a national security force is a scary prospect and it is nothing like having some private schools require service for those who choose to attend.

 

Because the thread deals with Obama's proposed national security force, I assumed that you were drawing a parallel between the two cases. If that was not your intent, then I totally missed your point. In any case, I object to the characterization of my post as "going off." Helping w/ a Bingo or cleaning of the river banks are a little different than what they are wanting to do. I did service hours to graduate high school. I wasn't on a national security force.
