Giants 21 Steelers 14

Featured Replies

Interesting game. Giants score 6 times and end up with 21 points, very unusual. I really thought that the Steelers had it in the bag but they shot themselves in the foot with penalties the entire 2nd half.

Its hard to mount any kind of consistent offense when your offensive line can't protect the QB. Especially against a defense like NY's.

I still think the Giants secondary can be exploited if you can buy your QB some time. So far nobody can do that. What they've done this year without Strahan and Osi is pretty impressive in my book.

The Giants schedule gets much tougher (starting yesterday), so I'll be interested to see if the defense can continue to pressure QB's to the extent that they have with a step-up in competition. Yesterday wasn't a fair assessment with regard to that, because, while P'burgh was a step up in competition, it was probably a step down when it comes to offensive line play. If you can't pressure and knock Ben down double digit times, then you should be really concerned about your defensive front.

If the Steelers could fix that, they'd be my odds on favorite to win the Super Bowl. They still have about as good a chance as anybody as it is.

G. I disagree

As far as the defense for the Giant winning it, you may be right, because their offense couldn't. You get 4 picks and barely squeek out that total not to mention have the ball for that long. I can say this with confidence, in the event they met in the big game, I like our chances.

Don't forget this all happened in Pittsburgh, where it is supposed to be very hard to play.

:thumb: The Giants currently lead the league in sacks again. They are on pace for 59 total sacks, 6 more than they had all of last year.

The Steelers defense played great, even when losing key personal.

Now the offense, We ran the ball better than expected without Parker, but the OL is killing Big Ben. I see Pitt make big changes in the offseason to the O-line.

Ben had his worse game of the year...

Congrats to the G-Men, the best team in the NFC.

Moore is running pretty well in Parker's place.

I can't argue that point, however, the play calling for down and distance is pathetic. And the fact that sometimes throwing it away is a better option, I think nearly as much blame is on Ben. Frankly, I think Ben is the most difficult QB to keep off his back in the league simply due to the fact that he holds the stupid thing so long. Granted he makes some terrific plays doing that, but more often ends up on his back.

Well at least he doesn't get hurt everytime he gets touched a little.

It's a good thing, he gets touched alot!

I never like the choice of OC for the Steelers.

Tomlin did a fine job in retaining staff, Dick Lebeau front and center, however, the appointment of Arians was a mistake IMO. Unless this season ends with a deep playoff run, I don't expect him to return in that capacity.

I wanted the defensive staff to stay too, but I didn't think much of Arians when he was in Cleveland. :thumb:

The Oline for Pitt is not very good and while Big Ben is tough + hard to bring down I don't think he is nearly as good as he is blown up to be. This was a prime example of what a pass rush can do to a good QB.
