The Maroons from far Western Kentucky come North to Park Hills to play CovCath this Saturday.

The Maroons are 5-3 and 2-3 in the District and are a 6A team. Other than that I and I am sure others in NKy really don't know much about this Madisonville-North Hopkins team.

I do know this, it is indeed a long drive (my daughter attends Murray State) and it is a beautiful part of the Commonwealth and the people of WKy are indeed some of the nicest you will ever meet.

Maroons fans, I don't know if you have a radio station that follows your team or if you do a webcast of your games, but if you can't make it to the game (and I totally understand the distance as I said before) you can listen to the game live on The CovCath Internet Radio Network.

Just remember we are on Eastern Time......:D

They are sending a radio crew for the game. Not sure which station.

M-N.H. has an awesome team web site! :ylsuper:

Don't care how down some people think CovCath is this year, it is always hard to win on Sat. in Park Hills. There is really only one team that has had any lasting success on Sat. over in Park Hills and they aint playing them. With that said, CovCath will win this one and be on their way to a 5-5 regular season and going into the playoffs.

I will go with CovCath on this one. I don't know a darn thing about the other team though so this is just pure faith in the team I am a fan of :)

MNHHS has a very good coaching Staff. Their Head coach came to MNHHS last year from Fort Campbell. He has a very talented QB which also came last year from Fort Campbell. Their fullback is a bulldozer. They have a good offense that can run and pass well. Their Defense is also solid with very talented backs that hit hard. They will shutdown a passing game. Look for this to be a close game.

Covington Catholic 28-14.

Wasn't Travis Ford from Madisonville?

Yes. So was Sonny Collins, Frank Ramsay, and former Kentucky governor Ruby Laffoon.

Ruby Lafoon? Not to take this thread too far off topic, but I've never heard of him. Great name, though.

I agree!

As far as the game goes, I think CCH gets the win. They are a lot better than some realize and their record is somewhat deceiving considering they've played a brutal schedule. I think it will be a close game but I like CCH by 2 td's playing at home.

Their offense has failed to score a TD in 4 out of 8 games.:sssh:

Only three games, which were their only losses. Two of the losses were to highly ranked teams in the state (Daviess county and Henderson County).

I will take CovCath also!

CovCath has played such a brutal schedule (as usual) with all of those games being played on the road, that playing a good team at home should give them some advantage. It's tough to beat Cardinal Mooney (Youngstown Ohio), Newport Central Catholic (who they did beat), Ft. Thomas Highlands, Beechwood, and Cincinnati Elder all on the road, so playing a tough team at home, especially with M.N.H. having to travel close to four hours to play, should result in a win for the Colonels.

While M.N.H. might have played some tough teams in Henderson County and Daviess County (and I mean no disrespect to them at all) I truly don't think those two teams are in the same class as Ft. Thomas Highlands, Cincinnati Elder and or CovCath next foe on Saturday November 8 Louisville St. X!

Be safe in driving up Maroons fans, and I hope you enjoy yourselves while you are in NKy, except of course, at the football game! :D

If this is a home and home series, I know I will be coming down next year to M.N.H to see the game and to visit my daughter.
