The man that Tilghman should have hired is Jack Haskins, who took Lone Oak to the 4A state finals last year and has Tilghman ties ... he was an assistant coach there and his son, Billy Jack Haskins, was a Mr. Football and led Tilghman to the state finals in 1992.

Soon, you would think. Tilghman self-reported it and Tilghman's principal has publicly said he expects that the Tornado will have to forfeit the game.

Tilghman had several starters out with injuries, including three offensive linemen and a fourth that was playing with a separated shoulder.

 

Still, there is just no getting around the fact that Tilghman lost to Muhlenberg South, which has never been anything resembling a solid program.

Tilghman should have hired Jack Haskins years ago. However, he would not have moved over this past year because of his Lone Oak ties & the program is going opposite direction of Tilghmans. Right now, Tilghman has to reach up to touch rock bottom.

I bet Haskins would have seriously considered the offer.

 

Would he have taken it? Maybe, maybe not. But I don't think he would have dismissed it out of hand.

I think Tilghman was given the word sometime last week, but waited until after the Muhlenberg South game to reveal it.
