October 19, 200817 yr Game 7 Sunday night at 8. Should be a great one, imo it is advantage Red Sox now. Not bc I am a Yankee fan but in a way I would like to see T.B. win just bc I am sick of hearing ESPN calling them (BoSox) "The Nation".
October 19, 200817 yr Where are all the Rays fans? I could've sworn, after game 4, you guys were all saying this series was over....
October 19, 200817 yr Where are all the Rays fans? I could've sworn, after game 4, you guys were all saying this series was over.... It should have been. How do you blow a 7-0 lead?
October 19, 200817 yr It should have been. How do you blow a 7-0 lead? Easy, you're manager makes a couple of bad pitching decisions in Fenway Park against the defending World Champions. It's far from a sure thing for the Sox--Tampa has a team full of gamers as well. However, after what the core of the Red Sox team has been through in the postseason the last 5 seasons you can't count them out or let up at all.
October 19, 200817 yr Great game by the Sox, and great performance by Beckett "Big Game James" met THE big game pitcher of this decade, Beckett. He was all guts tonight. Clearly in pain he gave them all he had and kept them in the game. Okajima and Masterson did a great job and no one was going to get a hit off of Papelbon tonight. He had that psychotic look in his eye when he took the mound--when he looks like that it's lights out. Tomorrow night should be a dandy, however it turns out this has been a great series.
October 19, 200817 yr Where are all the Rays fans? I could've sworn, after game 4, you guys were all saying this series was over.... The same place most of the Sox fans went after Game 4.
October 19, 200817 yr The same place most of the Sox fans went after Game 4. Most of the real Sox fans on this site were right here after Game 4, they might not have been predicting a comeback but they weren't conceding either. After being down 3-0 to the Yankees, no way I'd give up on this team with these players.

When we were down 3-1, I still had confidence that we'd win :thumb:

Masterson was shaky at first but got the job done as well. Can't wait til Game 7! GO SOX!
October 19, 200817 yr Rays had everything going in their favor last night. They were back at home, they had Shields on the mound who has been virtually unbeatable at home this year. They were facing Beckett, who obviously isn't the same pitcher, Papelbon had thrown a lot on Thursday. There is no way Lester pitches as poorly as he did in his first start in this series and I can't see any way Garza pitches as well as he did his first start. Tampa's pen is struggling and Papelbon only had to throw 8 pitches to finish things off in the 9th. IF the Rays lose this series, everyone will start comparing it to "greatest collapses ever". That's not really fair, but it would be a brutal way to lose when you are that close in Game 5 and things fall apart like they have. Everyone talks about how loose the Rays have been all year and rightfully so, but I can't imagine many players on their roster have faced the kind of pressure they are going to face tonight.
