From KNN Al:

Hi gang--it's that time of year for the 2008 KNN High School Scoreboard Show.

We'll again be using your nominees for Player Of The Week, and the official rankings will come from BluegrassPreps.com.

We'll be heard on at least 30 stations around Kentucky, with more on the way. I'll post a full station list as soon as it's finalized.

As always, I'd like for all of you to post the stations in your area that air high school games. We'll use reports from those stations in the show as much as possible. If you know the identity of the announcers that's a bonus.

When nominating a Player Of the Week candidate, please include the players name, school, size, (ht/wt), class, (soph/jr/sr) and position. Then give an accurate listing of the stats he posted that week. Carries, yards, etc.

We'll use all the nominees and give them a mention, and then one will be chosen for POW.

Thanks for all the help in advance, and enjoy the season!

I don't have stats yet, but I wish to nominate Raceland's Robbie Logan (6'4", 265lb, OL/DL), again. If he is not one of the best Defensive Linemen in the state, I want to see the ones who are.

You would really have to watch the game tape to give him justice, but he probably had around 4 solo tackles, and around 6 assists, but the most impressive stats are not stats, he was in the backfield changing the direction of the RB and hurrying the QB all night in Raceland's 51-12 win over Paintsville. He truly was a big difference in the game.

Robbie is getting a lot of attention from EKU, Marshall, Purdue, and several other D1 and D2 schools.

If you are interested in actually seeing the game for yourself, PM me and I can provide it over the Internet. You won't be disappointed.

9 receptions 191 yards 1 TD and 1 INT

8 receptions for 174 yards in the first quarter. Didn't play much in second half.

I would like to nominate Yorel Shemwell Senior RB (5'8" 194 Lbs.) from Owensboro he rushed 9 times for 137 yards and 2 TD's in just a little over one half of play in OHS's 48-0 win over Meade Co.

Also want to give props to OHS's sophmore kicker Trey Cain (6' 0" 149 Lbs) who set a new career long 44-yarder in the game as well.

Also Yante Williams (5' 8" 162 lbs) Senior OHS all-state DB who had 1 catch for 88 yards and a TD and another INT for a TD which I think was his 2nd on the season and his state leading 7th INT of the year.

Harlan County’s Nathaniel Gilliam rushed 19 times for 426 yards and 7 touchdowns in their 58-36 win over Middlesboro. His touchdowns runs were 81, 79, 79, 58, and 53 yards.

I would like to nominate Mason County's senior running back Jeremy Thompson. Jeremy rushed 15 times against Bourbon County for 230 yards and five touchdowns; and had one reception for 27 yards. 164 of the rushing yards came in the second half, with TD runs of 40, 41 and 31 yards.
