Who is Henry missing for this game?

As far as not playing Eminience and Carroll..maybe they are trying to add more 3A schools so they can play teams their same class.

 

My understanding is that Henry requested to be either the 1st or last game on the Carroll schedule, Since Carroll is already committed to playing Gallatiin first ( another rivalry game) and does not want to play Henry right before play-offs they can not commit to this.

 

I am not sure why Henry wants to change the time that they play, maybe a Henry fan can shed some light on that. They have historically always played at roughly the same time in the season. I hope it works out.

Ex: Henry and Trimble will play week 2 because Trimble and HC could keep it in their schedules-if TC chose not to keep that week it would open to another school. Same with Owen Co., etc). Henry Co. gave first dibs on weeks to all NCKC teams (outside of district games) and Eminence. I don't believe it has anything to do with competition as this has generally been a very competitive contest through the years and both coaches have a GREAT relationship. Sometimes schedules are difficult to arrange to fit what everyone wants to do. However, HC has picked up (I believe) South Oldham, Owensboro Cath, and Anderson Co.

Henry Co. can't win. If you play the locals in the NCKC and beat them up, you're paper champions and should be playing bigger schools. If you can't work out scheduling with the locals then it's "why don't they play the locals" It can't be both ways. Henry Co. is ramping up their schedule next season, as I understand it Eminence and Carroll are not a part of it.

Doesn't this make two rival games that Henry is losing this year, Eminence being the other?

 

Does seem like a patern is starting to develop when it comes to Henry County scheduling. As far as the game even with injuries Henry County is way to deep for Carroll and they willk not lose atother game till you get deep into the playoffs.

Sportsnut, Old Henry Man said that Henry has several key players injured and will not play. By saying that, I don't think he's talking about a freshman with a sore ankle , do you?

The biggest issue with the schedule in 09-10 is that the district scheduling grid changed. This is making it tough to get things worked out for many teams. The way we play this year in district play uses 5-7-9 for 4 team distrcits and in 09-10 it will be 7-8-9 for four team districts (this is what is making things difficult-Henry wants their bye week the week before district play-week 6, rather than week 10 like it is now). Hence the problem! Know your info., rather than making assumptions. The more the KHSAA changes things the more difficult scheduling can become.

Sorry! I forgot who I was dealing with. Henry's two year run of complete domination should constitute a major schedule change for the entire NCKC.

I think Trimble actually beat Henry last year, so you can change that to 1 year. However, they need to do what is best for their team in the long run.

 

Maybe we will give them a close game or win and then we will be worthy of a schedule next year!

I dont know what other HC fans think, but Carroll always scares me. The last time I watched a HC CC game it was 2 years ago at Carroll for their homecoming, and they spanked us. Carroll is always a tough game and I would expect no difference this year, escpecially since it is the same circumstances as 2 years ago.

Well, Howdy neighbors, it's time for your weekly dose of Ol Leonard. I know you missed me last week but it couldn't be helped. Let's get right down to the pronosticatin'. Those fearsome Felines from Henry County take a trip over the hill to the river bottom to face off with Coach Weedman's Black Cats of Carroll County on Friday night. Henry is coming off a tough loss at Western Hills last week. But Coach Engstand's Wildcats showed a lot of intestinal fortitude coming back from down 24-7 in the 3rd quarter to forge ahead 34-24 in the final frame. Looks like they just ran out of gas from the rally. Meanwhile the Panthers were getting the best of their old rivals from Owen County. This rivalry has split over the last two seasons. Carroll smashed Henry in '06 and Henry returned the favor last year. Friday the Wildcats'll get their hackles up when going in to be a homecoming date. Carroll should have given more thought when choosing their dance partners. Henry can score in bunches with several different players crossing the goal line. The Henry defense is a solid bunch of headhunters. The Panthers have four wins this year but number five will be a while. Carroll doesn't have the hosses to stay with Henry County. It should be a great high school football night, 'specially if you wearin' red and white. Leonards loser in a battle...Carroll County.

I would not say TWO YEAR domination of NCKC. I think Trimble got them last year rather easily.

Maybe Henry can walk the whole team around during warmups with ankle wraps and on crutches. Then Carroll will not know is going to play until the game starts.

I have seen players come out in street clothes and then be dressed at game time.
