The Evarts win over Mboro was in 1990. Brad Kirby also made the big stop inside the 5 yard line to seal the game. Mboro beat Evarts 7-3 in 96. I could have sworn that Harlan beat the Jackets in 96. Mabey 95?

Dunson was a great player but that Harlan team also had the best FB in Harlan City history Rutledge. :thumb:

I don't know about that. I for one have talked alot about HC and how they would do almost every game. I would have to say Corbin is a lot better than us right now. Mboro played a heck of a game last week against a pretty good team. I look at the scores against Lee County and it seems too be a toss up! But who knows this year the way things been going.

 

You don't understand he is not saying that HC def. is better than Corbin. It is Larkey's tackles that craw on the ground into the backfield. It is different than most all. Other than Knox Central copies when they played Bell.

Harlan County's defense has not shown the ability to stop a quality offensive team yet this year. Middlesboro has a couple good backs and one of them is not just a good back, but a great back with the heart of a Lion (Adams) and I believe he will have a HUGE night. They also have a very dangerous threat at Wide receiver, he is #12 and he is 6'2" with good speed and quickness. The thing IMO Harlan has to hope for is that they can score a bunch and try to keep up with M'boro.

IMHO it all will be decided by which Harlan Co. team shows up tonight and if they somehow can put a complete game together or not. Middlesboro has been running a little I, veer and Spread packages trying to get the ball in the hands of Adams. I don't think they can line up in the I and give the ball to Adams and beat the Bears if the Bears show up and play but the Urban Myers package could give the Bears fits tonight as most spread teams have done. The Bears have a big challenge ahead of them as Middlesboro is a very good team as was shown last week. If Corbin couldn't line up and blow them off the ball with the quality backs they have I am guessing this game will be decided by how healthy Blanton is for the Bears! This SHOULD be a dandy game to watch and GO BLACK BEARS!:thumb:
