Top state guard duos (in no order):

 

Jackson and Guyn (Scott County)

Jenkins and Kimbro (Manual)

Cosby and Jackson (Jtown)

Hayes and Glenn (Male)

Thomas and Dow (Eastern)

Johnson and Riley (Holmes)

Ethan and Evan (Elliott County)

Cox and Chiles (Ballard)

Johnson and Bramblett (North Hardin)

 

I'm sure there is more.

 

Gabbard/Popp are a nice duo.

You know, I guess it is really in the eyes of the beholder. Some may view Evan as better than Ethan. One thing is for sure, there isn't a pair of guards in the state that are closer and work as well together.

 

If only all guard combinations could be twin brothers!

 

See Ricardo and Jeremiah Johnson. Anyone who has seen them more than just at the state tournament know they complement one another's game very nicely too.

Overall a pretty comprehensive list, and I generally agree. Taylor Botkin also. He is a very solid player, but is kind of "quiet", and doesn't get the proper attention based on the rest of his team and region he plays in.

 

Basketball practice starts Wednesday - Yea !

Ethan at #7, Ferg #16, Evan at #27. If there is a better trio of guards in the state then bring them on. In fact along with Chris Knipp Elliott will start 4 guards and Timmy Knipp who even at 6'7-6'8" is more of a three. Elliott really has no one close to a power forward or center. Take those three guards and add a Leonard Macon and Richie Phares and you have a real top notch team. Oh yea, that was the starting five for Derek Smith 17U All-Stars this summer.

 

Congrads to Ferg, Ethan, and Evan. And you know what?? Three well grounded down to earth hard working nice young men who just love to play hoops and happen to play it pretty darn well.

 

I would take Ge'lawn Guyn, Chad Jackson, and Aaron Ford from Scott Co. over those 3. That is 3 very tough guards. Also Jeffersontown has Cosby, Jackson, and I can't remember the other guards' name. Then there is the Johnson brothers and Housely at Cov. Holmes. I believe all those combinations are better.

Really all the teams I mentioned have more than 3 good guards, which is what helps to make those teams so great.

So you are saying the list should done according to quality and number of offers? Good stuff.

I look forward to the Shooter Report. :eek::lol: I think we have to take any of these lists with a grain of salt. I believe it must be next to impossible to see all of the kids in the state for enough exposure to rank them. Therefore, many of the lists are compiled on 1) who did UK offer; 2) who put up big stats.; 3) hearsay; 4) actual observation; 5) a highlight moment (ie. a guy hanging on the rim screaming...."he must be good"); 6) one great game at the right time; 7) a lifetime achievement award; and/or 8) "personal" recommendations...did I forget 9) hype? No, I am not cynical at all.

The list is not 100% accurate, but its definitely a whole lot better than what Bolus puts out. Evan Faulkner maybe a little underrated, but hes not a top 10 senior this year either. Also, I hear about D-1 offers, but Ive never heard what school. Im not necessarily doubting it, but Ive not heard what school made the offer.

This is so wrong in so many ways. The three boys from Holmes are not even mentioned in the list. Also, luke Maile isn't even playing this year.

 

And only 3 period from NKY(that I saw). I'd think their should likely be atleast 7-8. I mean they do make up a good portion of the states population.
