Hangman
I broke the electric cupholder on my computer. I guess jug of java was too heavy for it. Is it still covered under the warranty? I deal strictly in software.
DragonFire
Something else I do is uncheck Service Pack 3 and click "don't notify me of these updates again". :thumb: Ditto. With SP3 I determined there was nothing of merit to install it in the first place, and this was before I started hearing about the problems it could cause. DragonFire
I tried to uninstall Windows Desktop Search from a coworker's computer but couldn't because it was part of service pack 3. To get around that I disable the toolbar from the taskbar, and then go into msconfig and disable the startup process. Pretty much does the same trick. DragonFire
I have been considering starting up various "technical" threads before. Are there enough computer geeks like me on here to have any quality discussions? I'd like to think I am enough of one!
halfback20
I go here anytime I need computer help. They are great, and it's free.
swamprat
I have been considering starting up various "technical" threads before. Are there enough computer geeks like me on here to have any quality discussions?I'm up for it. My strength is programming, but I also run an IT department, so I have to handle hardware and proprietary software (Windows, Office, Norton, etc.) issues constantly. I don't consider myself an expert in either department, though.
HHSDad
I'm definitely a geek. More of a hardware geek than a software geek. But still, a geek.
