October 1, 200818 yr I broke the electric cupholder on my computer. I guess jug of java was too heavy for it. Is it still covered under the warranty? I deal strictly in software.
October 1, 200818 yr Something else I do is uncheck Service Pack 3 and click "don't notify me of these updates again". :thumb: Ditto. With SP3 I determined there was nothing of merit to install it in the first place, and this was before I started hearing about the problems it could cause.
October 1, 200818 yr I tried to uninstall Windows Desktop Search from a coworker's computer but couldn't because it was part of service pack 3. To get around that I disable the toolbar from the taskbar, and then go into msconfig and disable the startup process. Pretty much does the same trick.

My strength is programming, but I also run an IT department, so I have to handle hardware and proprietary software (Windows, Office, Norton, etc.) issues constantly. I don't consider myself an expert in either department, though.
