Dow Jones largest drop ever

Lets hope so. I really do hope people understand the seriousness of this. It will and has changed people lives. The 30-40% people have lost in their 401Ks will not magically reappear in short order. The ones who have cashed or moved what's left to secure funds have accepted their loss and will not recoup losses. This is a "game changer".

Yes, I truly hope that nobody touched thier money if they still have several years before retiring. I know it's been said 100 times but people need to understand that with stocks low you are essentially buying them cheaper and giving yourself a chance to recoup from this loss.

Unfortunately a lot have. A lot of this selling is coming from the mutual funds.

I think we're seeing some margin calls too.

Just one person's opinion, but I think you're way overreacting on this. It's been a big drop, but if people are smart, they won't have touched their money, and it will recoup. The people who are taking it out are not the most savvy investors IMO.

Do you think we hit the bottom?

I am getting very angry that Schwab (my investment bank) hasn't fully set up my account yet so I can't buy. The stocks/funds I have been watching have been rising....

You should go with Fidelity. My father set up his account and was buying stocks the very next day!

:thumb: Fidelity is the very best you can go with. My very biased opinion of course. :D

Without a doubt IMO. Friday's crazy movements were a sign that it's hit bottom. My family's financial advisor told us that when you start seeing huge up and down swings like that, it means it won't go anywhere but up. Yesterday seems to be a good start.

Hmm, seemed to be down today.

Yeah, but a very small decline. It's always going to have days when there is small loses and gains. What I was trying to say is that the huge losses are supposed to be done. (According to his theory at least.)

The stock at the place I work went up 50% today. :dancingpa

It's not Nat City if you are wondering. Where is the post saying the hit financial stocks was way over blown. There is a lot of money to be made in some of them.

I have a pretty amazing article written about the stock market and how it will rebound according to past history. If you would like to read it PM your email.

It's those down days that I throw more money into the market. I considered taking some gains on Friday but decided against it. That's mainly IMO what happened today.
