Cody Short Newport might not be the best but a very good one.

Not much mentioned by the HHS posters but Slick Nick Martin #65 has quietly become one of the best interior LB's in NKY. Heart, desire, and a motor that doesn't quit!

 

Agreed Z. Nick has improved so very, very much over the course of his high school football career. He's a testament to what hard work, committment and dedication can do for young men. Keep it up Nick and keep up the leadership.

Koeninger has the ability to be something special. He will be a standout in '09 and should get considerable recognition.

How can no one include Geiman on this list?

Pat Van Sant has got to be on this list.

 

Agreed. He is one of the better linebackers the Birds have faced this year. The two Colerain inside Lbers are the best that we've faced, but after those two, I'd say Pat is the best. I think safety is his natural position (and the position he'll play in college if he plays) but the Colonels need his run stopping ability so he has to play lber this year.

Because he doesn't play Defense anymore and has only played on the Defensive side of the ball in half of the games....

He means Geiman from Conner.

Colton McIntyre. He isn't the best LB in NKY but he is a playmaker and often the swing player in every game for the WV Bearcats. He has two interceptions returned for td's and is the leader of the team. If only he had not went to a school who didn't have football til his junior year he could be a big time player, bigger than he already is.

Brad Herald from Holy Cross he was one of Northern Ky's leading tacklers last year. Unfortunatly for him he broke 3 bones in his foot during a preseason scrimmage and is missing most of his senior year. He came back for the Ryle game and then rebroke 1 bone.

Yes he was a fine linebacker last year and the loss has been a big blow for the Indians defense this year. :thumb:
