Is 156.2 the highest total ever? I remember Male had a very high total in 2006.

3A looks right on to me.

Just a little confused at how Paducah Tilghman is ranked so high.

What ?

#2 Henry Co.

#3 Belfry

#5 PT

#8 Mason Co.

#15 Russell:confused:

Someone please refresh my memory. In theory, would St. X at 156.2 be favored by 34 points over Trinity on a neutral field, or is there more to it than that?

I would NEVER want to start something, but...

Ashland 10+ "points" higher than Raceland?

Yeah, I mean who is to say Henry County isn't the #2, all they have done is shut everyone out and score 50+ on them.

You also have to realize that out of 40+ teams not every single one of them are going to be ranked perfectly, the majority and the top tier teams IMO are ranked pretty good right now, for this point in the season.

Russell did get throttled by Ashland who was throttled by Raceland, just an observation. And what is wrong with being #8, that is a pretty good ranking for Mason County because by the end of the year they very well could be in the semis along with some others that have chance.

Yes but keep in mind that the Cincy StX game is not calculated in for Trinity.

You make a good point, BUT.....

I don't care what happened last week with Russell, there are NOT 14 teams in 3A better than them.

Henry Co. is NOT better than Belfry. The only way to prove that to me is to do it on the field. And that 50- 0 scoring margin....I promise you it will not come into play.

And I also agree with you, however, for a poll that (to the best of my knowledge uses no human bias) shows a pretty good indication of over 40+ teams using just some numbers that are crunched together.

I would guess strength of schedule...They've played 6a #8 Graves, who's 4-0, 5a #10 Christian Co, who's 2-1 and 2a #1 Ft Campbell, who's 4-0... I would doubt very many of the 3a teams ranked below them, would fare any better against those 3 teams...

I guess, I still feel there are better teams in 3A that could do better than 95-27 scoring margin against those teams. Top 10 yes, top 5 not IMO.

For Mason to be in the semifinals, they will have to beat Russell and Belfry ( at home) thats an awfully tall task.

When this was devised, the theory was to use scores of games to predict winners and not create true point spreads. This goes back to the 1920s. So for now, St. X is a favorite to defeat Trinity on 10/3.

I know that but they are good enough to do so and why do both of them have to be away games for Mason, the district isn't seeded yet. Not too mention Russell would have to get by the 1st round game.

I hope we can keep it within 40. :sssh:
