September 25, 200817 yr Wow, thats all I can say is wow. How much did all of that cost you? Tooooo much. That was 3 or 4 years ago. Had I known then that one day it would cost me 50 to 80 bucks a week just to drive the vehicleback and forth from work and school, it would have stayed stock and I'd have another 8 or 9 thousand in my bank accout :lol:

I've seen a lot of guys that had no clue what they were doing ruin perfectly good speakers because they thought they'd save a few bucks and hook up the biggest amp they could get their hands on. Have you looked into putting some dynamat in your car ? If you haven't, I'd recommend it. Dynamat makes a set of speakers in the trunk of a car sound completely different. I'd also recommend upgrading your factory speakers inside the car if you haven't yet. It makes the vocals 1000 times more clear without sacraficing any boom from the speakers. I actually lied earlier when I said they hadn't been turned on in a year. Every now and then, I'll pull up beside some young kids and it sounds like they've got a man in the trunk trying to kick his way out. I turn them up then just to let them hear what a true investment sounds like. The faces are always funny.

The guys on pimp my ride said the jackhammer was louder than a jet engine. I've seen a couple, they are massive.
September 25, 200817 yr The guy that has done all my work held at one time (1998 I believe) a world title for a system he had in a blazer. The blazer had 1 seat (drivers seat) the rest was essentially a box holding 12 15's. I've seen pictures of it...insane.

I've seen someone blow five "waffle" fuses back to back to back because the idiots didnt just disconnect the battery. :lol: I'm going to see how much more sound I get with my new amp. If I like what I hear, I'll definitely Dynamat the trunk. I agree with you, it can definitely change the sound of your system, from the inside and out. My interior speakers are Bose (it's what came in the car). Im hesitant about switching those out just yet, because they sound pretty darn good. Have considered adding some tweeters though.

Oh yeah -- the tape deck quit working about a year ago as well. The antennae gets great reception, though.

Bose is top of the line when it comes to stock speakers. I also had Bose in mine. The bass was so loud that it was drowning out the vocals. I switched all my stock speakers to kicker also. For me, it was well worth the cost. I wouldn't do it if I didn't have to though. Let me know when you get serious about buying an in dash. Mine is in good shape and I wouldn't mind getting it off my hands. I'd love to buy a 64-69 impala and just gut it and redo the entire ride from top to bottom. My dad restores old cars so I've got some cheap labor when it comes to body work, paint, etc. I'd like to have it as a project I could work on every weekend and make it last a few years.
