Raceland played very well, not great, but very well. The ground game was very productive, a steady dose of Denton and Carver. Todd Selvage had a great run after the catch, pass covered 10 yards and he broke tackles and hurdled one for a 65 yard TD, great effort.

 

Raceland's defense is still doing a great job, very overpowering.

 

Fairview has a good team and I expect more wins on the season for them and they will likely be in the number three spot in a very competitive district. Fairview is still a quality team with several weapons. Good luck to Fairview in the remainder of their season.

I forgot to report that Raceland's QB received an unsportsmanlike penalty. That is right, the QB, I have never seen that. He got hit after a pass and pushed the defensive guy while the play was still going on. Strange.

WESTWOOD — Raceland’s experience, size and strength won out in a matchup of Class A Top 10 football teams Friday night.

 

The third-ranked Rams scored twice in the final 3:26 of the first half and pulled away in the third quarter for a 37-12 victory against emotionally spent Fairview.

 

 

“When you try to come out and play the No. 3 team in the state, it’s a tough task,’’ McPeek said. “Raceland is experienced and a very good team. We couldn’t handle them. There’s a reason they are ranked that high.’’
