IMO, no. I believe that a true pro-lifer has the following thoughts:

 

On abortion- the only time it is permissible is when the life of the mother is in danger, and every attempt must be made to save the life of the baby as well.

On the death penalty- the only time it is permissible is when society holds no other resources to protecting itself from the criminal. (FWIW, if a third-world country has no dependable prison system, I am not too against the death penalty, because if society can not be protected (therefore more lives are being taken) then it is the only option.)

 

In both instances, the main goal is to allow as much life as possible.

I think that Pro-Abortion Rights and Anti-Abortion would be the two most accurate. Pro-Choice is misleading, and I guess in a way Pro-Life is to, unless you are describing me, because I am definently pro-life.

ABORTION IS NEVER AN ACCEPTABLE OPTION Here is what I meant. There are instances in which it is legitimate for an expectant mother to undergo certain medical or surgical procedures that will save her life, even if these procedures inevitably involve the death of her unborn child.

I hold the opposite standpoint. Am I anti-choice?

 

The least misleading terms are Pro-Abortion Rights and Anti-Abortion Rights. I believe that misleading language and inaccurate terminology can completely sway people away from the true issues. Abortion used to be killing a baby- now it is called "terminating a pregnancy" or "removing a fetus".

I'm pro-choice through the first trimester. After that, I think you should have to carry the baby to term, unless the life of the mother is in danger.
