Actually, you make me think of a good point. There aren't really any pro-McCain threads or pro-Obama threads in this forum. They're either anti-McCain or anti-Obama.

Palin has been a small-town mayor and a governor for less than two years. Obama has been a state legislator and a United States Senator since January 2005 ... in both cases, I suspect, representing many more people as an elected official than Palin.

 

I'm not disparaging Palin's accomplishments by any means. I just don't understand how that makes her more accomplished than Obama.

Palin also served for a year as the chair of the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, which led to her decision to run for governor. She blew the whistle on another member of the commission, who happened to be the state's GOP chairman. When Governor Murkowski failed to back her up, she resigned, lodged a formal complaint that resulted in a $12,000 fine against the GOP chairman and the resignation of Alaska's Attorney General.

 

Palin's stratospheric job approval ratings are often mentioned by the media but what is not mentioned is that she enjoys a 75 percent approval rating among Democrats.

 

The Obama campaign's attempt to portray Palin as a far right wing nut job is the most dishonest and desperate attempts to discredit a candidate that I have ever witnessed.

I was going to say that no one is that excited about either candidate (which is partially true) but the real thing is, that LN is too busy defending McCain in other threads, and the Obamites are too busy defending him in other threads. :lol:

The Obama campaign's attempt to portray Palin as a far right wing nut job is the most dishonest and desperate attempts to discredit a candidate that I have ever witnessed.

Obama belittled Palin by initially ignoring the fact that she is a governor and comparing her executive experience as the mayor of a small town with 50 employees to his executive experience of running for president. Of course, the budget of Alaska dwarfs the one for the Obama campaign but Obama never lets the facts get in the way of a good political shot.

 

Anybody who does nto believe that the extremely well financed left wing blogs, particularly the Daily Kos (host of a Democratic presidential debate) and MoveOn.org are not working in an organized way to elect Barack Obama is ignoring the obvious. The web sites are not nickel and dime operations being run out of some guy's basement.

Where are those big well financed right wing equivalents of the Daily Kos, MoveOn.org, Media Matters, the Democratic Underground, and the Huffington Post. You know, the sites that just make stuff up that get picked up and repeated by the mainstream media?

If Obama had received the same kind of scrutiny the first two weeks of his candidacy for president as Palin has received since her nomination, he would have been an early campaign casualty.

 

I understand that the Obama campaign has been busy attacking the character of another critic. There seems to be a pattern emerging here. I wonder how far a President Obama would go to intimidate the media.

WGN-AM again target of Obama campaign

 

Chicago radio station WGN-AM is again coming under attack from the presidential campaign of Sen. Barack Obama for offering airtime to a controversial author.

 

It is the second time in recent weeks the station has been the target of an "Obama Action Wire" alert to supporters of the Illinois Democrat.

 

Monday night's target was David Freddoso, who the campaign said was scheduled to be on the station from 9 p.m. to 11 p.m. Chicago time.
