I’m not seeing a whole lot of people defending Ashland’s #4 ranking on this poll. Some objections have been made but the arguments as to who would you place above them is a bit weak. Personally, I believe the Tomcats need to go out and take care of business on the field and let these polls fall where they may. Ashland has a lot to work on besides worrying about Super 7 rankings.

 

Why wouldn’t Russell want Ashland ranked at #4 anyway? After all, if the devils win Friday night, would it not be desirable to have beaten a team ranked as high as possible? It’s rather obvious that Russell just doesn’t have many opportunities to beat a ranked team. On the other hand, if Ashland beats Russell, should the two teams swap spots on this poll?

Personally I think Lawrence may be better than the bottom 3, maybe bottom 4 on that list. They did stick with Belfry and only lost by 1 TD.

 

In a 5 week span LC plays:

Belfry ranked #1 in the state

Sheldon Clark ranked #6 in the state

Prestonsburg ranked #4 in the state

Boyd Co

Russell ranked #4 in the state

That doesn't count Breatthitt and Letcher Co Central who they play late.

 

We have 1 Sr starting on offense and 2 Sr starting on defense. Our Qb who might be the best in the area has also not been around to finish the last 2 games. Our kids are better than a lot think IMO. I feel no different than I did before. This group should get better and better each week. They are doing things the right way. We hit a speedbump with Sheldon Clark who played a lot better than I expected but the attitude is positive in the Lawrence Co lockerrom and these kids are determined to be winners!
