It has been a while since I was in a classroom, but I had not only heard of the term, I was more than a little surprised that any well read person didn't know about it. I also found it interesting that under Palin's list of circumstances that justify preemptive war, Iraq would be hard to justify.

I would say you are in the small minority if you were familiar with the phrase, "Bush Doctrine." I am not saying that is an excuse for Palin not to know it, but I would guess 95%+ had no idea what he was talking about.

Was the Social Security question a "gotcha" question? It seemed to confuse her.

I didn't see the interview. Did Gibson ask her anything about having no real world travel experience and if that should be an issue?

I just watched the Gibson interview with Obama from the summer again. The tone of that interview was completely different from the Palin interview, more like two pals chatting actually. Another observation, Gibson's glasses were pushed much further up on his nose during the Obama interview; whereas, during the Palin interview they were pushed down his nose as far as they could possibly go as if he did this so he could "look down his nose" at her. Just an observation I made.
