I don't think we've seen this QB for Ryle at a comfortable spot yet. He played at HHS which is pretty intimidating for your first start. Then they played a team that has more bugs to work out than they do. I think you will see this kid come into his own this week. Will they score 35 points against NCC, not sure. I do know one thing: HHS was working some bugs out that first week but I will give credit where credit is due. Ryle flat out came out and hit Highlands in the mouth on Defense that game. I was thinking that this may be a lower scoring game at first but as the week progresses, I am finding my vision of a 35-28 score. I also can't decide who'll get it. I would say the team that doesn't give up until the end.

Well . . . a couple things. First, I don't know that NCC has firmly established itself as having a "quality defense" just quite yet. Secondly, I feel pretty confident that Ryle's defense won't give up 34 points. Ryle's defense is legit and their secondary is very good.

 

Borrowing from a past post, history tends to show that NewCath has an outstanding defense. This year I will say that they are quality. Are they as good defensively as Ryle, no. They are however "Quality"/above average.

I think Ryle is very young this year. Also NCC had lost all their entire defense besides 1 I believe. IMO I think think it will hurt Ryle more because they are young on both sides of the ball. Pus NCC's offense is no joke with Kues and his recievers.

Injuries piling up for Breds. Justin Jones, starting linebacker and Jake Keirnan, starting def. Tackle were injured in practice yesterday. Justin hurt his shoulder and Jake broke a finger, not sure on the status of either for Saturday's game..

Nice. The mono issues and now actual injuries. I hope that both players heal quickly and don't rush back too quickly. The main prize is down the road.

After having seen Ryle vs. Highlands, I cannot agree with that statement. If NCC wins by at least 17, I'll be shocked. I expect a close, hard-fought game.

I think Ryle's speed will cause trouble for NCC. I watched the NCC game last week and was shocked by how slow NCC really is. Ryle will wear down NCC and pull away in the 4th.

NCC was slow at 2 positions. One was key to allowing Van Sant to drag across the middle. The second had no effect, really on the outcome. Kues looked plenty fast ripping your D a new one. If anything it was CovCath's size that was a major factor on the lines. NewCath couldn't get Isler out of his comfort zone.

So Newport will be busy tonight!!! First BBHS/Walton, then NCC/Ryle. The old Newport Field could never handle that. If any place ever needed field turf, it was that one. Great job Wildcats on helping out all the under-privileged Catholic schools of the area. Thanks....Wish I could see the Stangs and the Breds play but my wife's birthday takes precedence.
