I think its silly to start counting for either side. But if the issue with Rezko is that he was a crook and Obama got a "sweet deal" on a house from this guy then you have to say that McCain's wife and father-in-law also got a sweet deal (Phoenix New Times term) when they invested in a Keating shopping center. So are we now going to cancel them out as well? You will have to give more info then that. Other then Cindy and her father making an investment I am not sure what there is to say.

 

How far do we want to go here? When you need money to make your campaign go you sometimes take dirty money from shady characters somethings knowingly sometimes unknowlingly.

 

Do we say that McCain's current wife is of low morals because she had an affair with McCain while he was still married? If we're going to blast Edwards (and rightly so) why do we give McCain a pass? What in the crap does Edwards and McCain's wife's morals have to do with Obama's associations?

 

The 1.17.95 Phoenix Gazette article said that McCain was invited to the 90th birthday party of notorious crime boss Joe Bonanno. The article said that he couldn't attend but sent his regrets. I don't know about you guys and how you roll but I don't get invited to crime boss' parties because I don't hang with crime bosses. I'm guessing the only way you get invited is to "be friendly" with them. Are we now giving him another free pass?

He also accepted campaign contributions from Bonanno's "family." Joe Bonanno lived in AZ at the time. McCain is his senator. They also invited the governor. Both McCain and the governor declined to attend. What's the story? Can McCain control who sends him an invitation to a party?

1. You can't on one hand nail a guy for doing a shady deal with a convicted felon and then ignore your guy when he and his family did the same.

 

2. You can't bash a guy's character due to his associations yet ignore your guy's lack of character when he returned home, found his wife not as attractive as she was when he left due to a serious car accident and then cheated on her.

 

3. You did notice that only ONE senator was invited and responded, right? Why did Bonanno pick him and not the other? Secondly, you use the fact that the governor was invited but you left out the part that this governor was thrown out of office after being convicted for fraud. 1 + 1 = ....

 

I realize these may offset yours and others' charges against Obama but you can't ignore them. If you and Aces et al want to play the "gotcha" game then you've got to be prepared when your guy is shown to have the same "association" issues.
