I don't now about that? CovCath usually plays an Ohio team once or twice a season and wins as many as they lose! Now in football, that is a completely different story.

Put them against Manual, J'Town, Male, Ballard, and Eastern all of which are as good as any you have listed above and all five of these teams could very well be in the top 15 during the season with as many as 3 in the top 5. Every team listed also had 3+ wins against top 20 teams last year.

They may be a competitive league but definately not the most competitive in the nation. There are a number of schools in KY that could defeat the top GCL teams.

I didn't see any of those Louisville schools you mentioned playing on Saturday at Rupp Artena so I question your response, but I do think they could defeat the best teams in the Cincinnati area.

In a given year a couple Kentucky teams can beat just about anyone in Ohio, but in general there are just too many urban areas that produce great basketball talent in Ohio. Cinncinatti and Cleveland both produce a lot of D-1 players. Lebron James is from Ohio btw.

In the 7th, you have to win at least 2 or 3 (and sometimes) four games in a row against top 20 to even get to Rupp for the Sweet 16. The LIT and the 7th Region tourney had more top 20 teams than the Sweet16 last year. One of the teams listed on the OP didn't even see a top 40 team during their district and entire regional tourney.

 

Spread the 7th region top teams around the state in different regions instead of letting them knock each other out and you could see Ballard, Manual, Eastern, Jtown, and Male all playing in the Elite 8.

I agree with you the seventh is brutal, but no more brutal than the 11th. The 11th was way better than the 7th last year. And this year the 7th will probably be stronger. It goes in cycles with these two, as to who is the best. However there is no denying that these are the strongest two regions in the state year in and year out. Alot of times the teams 1-4 in each region could win the state championship with a few breaks.

Absolutely the 11th region is same. The 11th and 7th regions are not safe regions even for a team that's ranked #1 or #2 statewide. It would be great if they could set up some kind of event similar to college in the ACC - Big Ten Challenge between the 7th and 11th top 5 teams in respective regions.

We would do better than hold our own if we took Elliott Co., GRC., June Buc., Mason Co. and put them in the Ohio Div. for public schools with the same enrollment. :scared:
