I guess you didn't read Mr. Eutons comments that clearly said it was for athletic purposes which is against the policies of the KHSAA. But then again on that day while wearing a blue shirt, standing on one leg in the Toyota parking lot and reading a Shakespeare novel it was OK. They should have told all the other kids that have been ruled ineligible that this was the process?????? I know of three young athletes, 2 boys and 1 girl that had similiar situations that lost a year of playing time in our region alone. If we are going to stand on the rules and rules alone then Flannery and Jackson are eligible but based on public comments made by the other family he should be ineligible.

He chose SC because of the program there. Again, doesn't go against the criteria. He changed residences, not just down the road, but 2 hours from his original home. Move was completely within the rules. And unless Pam was gonna homeschool him, he had to pick a school.

Not sure I agree with this. Euton's father publicly admitted in print that his son's choosing of Scott County was "in part" due to their basketball program. This clearly violates the KHSAA bylaws. Personally, I think that the KHSAA transfer rule needs a major overhaul and much needed clarification, and I personally don't have a problem with Euton and Jackson playing at Scott Co. However, either enforce the rules or rewrite them (which I would love to see). I don't see how Euton can be found eligible with the way the rules are NOW written. I was hoping that the Daily Independent article would shed some light on the KHSAA reasoning for overturning the original decision, but none was given. Could it be that the board also realizes that the current transfer rule is not feasible so they are just taking matters in their own hands. If this is the case, why have written bylaws at all.

Scott County should be heavy favorites in the 11th, however on any given night things happen. The Madison Central team you speak about beat a Scott County team full of Sophmores.With a year of seasoning they showed how good they were by winning the State championship and going undefeated in-state. Scott County is the only team this year that has kept there two best players and gotten better players by transfer. There will be alot of people to cheer against Scott County, it will be very interesting to see how the players respond. I believe they will respond very well and be a very good team. If you look at player rankings Scott County has the #2 ranked Senior, #1-3 Juniors, and the #1 and #4 ranked Freshman. No team in the state can come close to that firepower. But as they say on any given night.

And I disagree, as does the KHSAA obviously. The move was not motivated by basketball. It was because his dad needed employment. I will agree that the comments by his dad stated clearly why they chose SC. But SC was not the reason that they moved. I too agree that perhaps the system needs overhauled. However, I'd like you to show me where he didn't meet the criteria.

Really most player rankings you see can't really be accurate. Its hard to see all the best players in Kentucky and even if they have its still just someone's opinion. It is a good conversation piece though.

 

I am glad the young men get to play. Unless there is recruiting proven I don't see how anyone who moves should not be eligible to play because of geography purposes.

3 kids who play on the same AAU team, coached by someone very close to the Scott Co. staff, and they all transfer in the same year to the same school. How can a logical person not think that the moves were about basketball???? One needed employment, one needed closer to his employment, and one just needed help!!!!! Smells like a duck, walks like duck, sounds like a duck...... PROBABLY A DUCK!!!!
