Word is Cox is out with mono. They hope to have him back by the CovCath game

The good news for the Breds in all of this was that they did pretty well on offense w/out starting right tackle Cox. This meant that they had to go both ways more than they have in the past. That is the one difference b/n this year's NewCath team and last's, besides the size of their middle linebackers (who are both very big, like Tyler Bardo/Kallendorf big), that they have a lot more guys going both ways. A lot of sophomores saw action last night and a lot of players were rotated to give the coaches a look to see who can help add depth. Also good news, Chris Kelly is back. He had been out w/ an injury but was cleared to practice yesterday. He'll add a breather at RB, and I look to see be in the rotation, if not starting, at linebacker against SK.

 

The D-Line did much better this week and they had a lot of different guys rotating in. Roll, Kiernan, Smith and Lohr did a nice job of pressuring the Dixie-OLine getting in the backfield. Lohr had a very nice sack in the 2nd quarter.

I'm sorry, I meant that Johnson and Willet had great size and compared them to Bardo and Kallendorf from a few years ago.

What is NCC break down as far as Sr. Jr. Soph. that start? Offense? Defense?

Is Ben Parr starting for NCC this year? As a young kid he was probably one of the best athletics I've ever coached. I know he has had a few injuries the past couple of years but now I hear he is healthy. Best of luck this year Ben.

He is starting at both WR and DB and doing a very good job at both.

Almost all Seniors on both sides of the ball. Maybe 2 or 3 jrs., no soph's unless Chris Kelly gets some time when he comes back.

From what I saw quite a few sophomores got time on Friday night. It'll be a decent mix, mostly Jrs. and Srs. but I wouldn't be surprised to see Cain get a lot of time at DB. Doyle played when NewCath went to 2 safeties, and Daunt saw some time at WR. That gives the Breds 3 sophomers who could also sneak into the rotation, maybe not start, but still see the field.

How's the little (6'5") Giesler boy doing? Is he getting any reps at TE...or are they feeding him for DL (lol).

 

Jake's out with cut knee, maybe another month. Might get in some special teams.
