August 9, 200818 yr I always loved to squirrel hunt. that is what I started out on and the love for it never left. Take my ol' 16 ga. double barrel, a pocket full of high brass #6 shot and go. I used to never miss an opening day, too hot or not (which it usually is when season comes in) I just had to go. Good luck to all and remember safety first :thumb:. Fried squirrel, gravy, fried green tomatoes and cat head biscuts....Ummmm Ummm.
August 10, 200818 yr Author I started out squirrel hunting with my single shot 16 ga. and my grandpa as a youngster and have passed my love for it and the outdoors on to my boys.

Kudos to you for passing the tradition on. Too many of our youth today are getting away from hunting, fishing and the outdoor lifestyle that we were brought up on. You mentioned your 16 ga, single shot, that double barrel of mine was the gun that my dad handed to me when I was old enough to learn to hunt and carry a gun. I still have it and the memories, emotional ties along with it and his other guns that were passed on are priceless. The actual game taken is the least of the hunt for me, it's the things that money could never buy. Thanks for the lifestyle teachings Dad, I love you and we wil hunt and fish together again one day.
August 10, 200818 yr I'll wait till it cools down a bit. But I promised my 8 year old nephew I'd take him out for the 1st time. I've still got my boys old .410. Can't wait to take a young one a huntin'.

August 10, 200818 yr I always enjoy squirrel season, especially opening morning. The ol' 410. is cleaned and ready to go. My wife will also be hunting with me this season. She has bow hunted for deer but this will be her first squirrel hunt. :ylsuper:
August 10, 200818 yr BF, I thought you would be counting down the days.Does this mean I can legally assassinate the little punks that have been using strong-paw tactics to drive me out of the back yard the last year or two?
August 10, 200818 yr Does this mean I can legally assassinate the little punks that have been using strong-paw tactics to drive me out of the back yard the last year or two? Yes it certainly does, as long as you buy a Ky. Hnting licsense. Now one thing is that there may or may not be city ordinance prohibiting you to kill (firing a weapon) the actual culprits but you will be able to go out to a legal area and take a few of their relatives.

I must say that I know what kind of shot Mrs. Cville is with a bow and if she even comes close to that accuracy with a gun not only will you have plenty of squackers in the frying pan but you had better not make her mad at you with that gun in her hands.....
