SC doesn't give waivers to certain players, SC only plays with students that LIVE in their district, SC doesnt give preference to certain students that want to enroll in their school, SC does not accept funds from outside agencies to help fund their students scholarships, and SC does not and never has recruited....what's so hypocritical?

Because McKee knows that if the St. Xs and Trinitys of the world are out of the way, his chance at a state championship goes up exponentially. I won't pose to speak for Guru, but if he sees it like I do, McKee's outrage over private schools has less to do with leveling any playing field for the entire state and more to do with making SC's championship road easier. In other words, his motives may not have the best interest of the entire state in mind, although that's how he presents it.

Well, McKee is the AD, and SC has long been suspected of recruiting because of the unusually high number of transfers that find their way into the SC hoops program. For what it's worth, I think a lot of that has to do with the fact that G'town plays host to the most desirable employer in the state, and less to do with actual recruiting.

 

But it is a bit hypocritical to point figures at other schools for recruiting while accepting in two of the best players in the state in what looks, on the surface, like a package deal.

Too bad when he got his shot at the Championship - X demonstrated quite convincingly that he did not belong on the same field. NO wonder he wants the better programs out of the way.

They don't feel like they can compete with St. X and Trinity. I can understand that it is frustrating for teams when no one besides Trinity or St. X has won it all in a long time. How long has it been since someone else one the old 4A title or the 6A title besides those 2 teams?
