Boyle Co. camp report...

Featured Replies

Just a quick note to say that I was told by 2 or 3 different people that the Boyle vs. Rockcastle controlled scrimmage went very much in favor of Boyle. FYI, one of the people who told me was a Rockcastle fan.

As well everything I heard echos the earlier remarks. Boyle did very well at camp.

Did they also tell you that this is against KHSAA rules and that it will count as a scrimmage against the 2 scrimmages they get before the season starts?

I was curious about that when I saw the posting. I thought it would count against one of their pre-season scrimmages if posted as such . Is this strictly enforced by the KHSAA? Is there any difference between a scrimmage or a controlled scrimmage?

It is a practice with other teams. Many, many teams do this year in and year out. They don't keep score, they are not clock managed, it is well within the rules. Many teams attend this camp. "Controlled scrimmage" are the words I used to describe it but it is practice.

Hmmm...I am pretty sure that when 11 people in pads line up against 11 people in pads (controlled or not) that it will count as a scrimmage, a scrimmage is a competitive practice, but a scrimmage just the same. Many teams get caught doing this at camp and must report it as a scrimmage. Be interesting to see it BC reports this or not, or how much truth there is to it.

Boyle Co. has counted the scrimmage against Rockcastle as one of the two legal scrimmages. The date of the next and last scrimmage is still TBD.

There are many teams that do this every year and Boyle is one of them. It has never been an issue before and I doubt it will be now.

It IS an issue and IS being closely watched by the KHSAA. The coaches I'm told have been warned that these scrimmages at camps do count against the two allowed scrimmages. It wouldn't surprise me one bit if the KHSAA didn't have someone at these camps monitoring what goes on. I was glad to read from Pullin4BC that Boyle is aware of the rule and is counting it as one of the two legal scrimmages, as I have a lot of respect for Boyle's program and don't want to see them get in trouble.

Does not even have to be 11 vs. 11. Can be 1 vs. 1.

Let's get back to discussing, the actual content of the Boyle and Rockcastle Co. scrimmage, rather than other issues.

Keep in mind Rule #4.

4. No school-specific (or general) recruiting comments or allegations of KHSAA rules violations by any school, coach, player or booster are allowed. No talking about where any player lives, has lived, or where they are from in a recruiting context. This is not the place to report KHSAA violations. Feel free to contact www.khsaa.org to report such violations, but do not discuss violations here.

We can't even discuss what the KHSAA rules are? No one said that Boyle did anything wrong; rather, that under the rules their scrimmage against the Rock counted against their two permitted scrimmages.

We've had 13 posts and nothing, is concerning the content of the scrimmage. Again, let's get back to discussing the scrimmage, between Boyle County and Rockcastle County.

Technically, two of the posts mentioned the outcome of the scrimmage. :D:D
