Spring/Summer 2007, brings another round of will he play or not, before Favre finally decides to play. March 4, 2008, after his best season in several years and one of the best of his career, Favre retires. July 2, 2008, reports say Favre contacted the Packers about returning. July 11, 2008, Favre writes the team a letter asking for his unconditional release. Here we are...
August 4, 200818 yr :thumb: Favre had his chance to un-retire in April, if I remember correctly. The Packers were on their way to talk to him, and he cancelled the meeting and said he'd changed his mind. The Packers got on with business and drafted to rookies, and made Aaron Rodgers the starter. Right before the season starts, Favre changes his mind again. The situation is squarely in Favres lap. The Packers had to to what they had to do. They had a team to get ready for the season. :thumb: But, Favre doesn't want any special treatment. He just wants to be treated like any other player...just one of the guys. :lol: A classic quote from Brett. I loved it.
August 4, 200818 yr I had a heated debate on this topic last night while I was drafting in my fantasy league. He was from Green Bay, so he said that Favre was above the team. I, from Kentucky, thought he was an idiot and we debated whether he should return or not, he kept saying I knew nothing about football, I didn't watch last year, how a pass from Favre would break my rib cage, and called me an idiot yada yada yada. Must not have been too confident in Favre's abilities because he didn't draft him.:sssh: I think he should stay retired because they don't want him, he is 38, and won't be NEAR as good this year. This guy did pick 7 running backs in the first 10 rounds, including both Rudi and Kenny Watson.
