August 4, 200818 yr Obama is bi-racial, not black or white. Race should not be an issue since he is a mixture of both. Therefore, both races should feel good voting for him if their only issue is race itself. I just wish he would acknowledge that he is bi-racial and be proud of it. But to answer the question of "what is Obama afraid of", I don't think he is afraid of McSame (opps McCain). He is very intelligent, resourceful and could hold his own against McCain. I think we will actually see the youngster put it on the senior citizen when the debates begin. Do voters actually get anything out the debates? Do candidates actually say anything new or , heck, do they even answer the questions posed? I agree on the bolded for those looking for style over substance. Obama will be sound bitish and come across sounding great. And the voters that don't look for substance will fawn over him. We may see a repeat of Kennedy-Nixon where television will give a much different appearance of one candidate over the other.

I think the debates may actually hurt McCain. The few times that I heard him speaking during the primary caused me to look more favorably at his opponents.

August 4, 200818 yr If Obama is given time to prepare he could sell a deep freezer to an eskimo. He has shown that off the cuff he has issues. That's why he won't agree to the proposed town hall type debates because he won't have any idea what might be asked of him.

Doesn't the person have to submit questions beforehand in those type of meetings? I didn't think some schmoe could walk in off the street and ask a question.
August 4, 200818 yr I'm saying all they do is whine about race. Heck, I've heard on this board, in the media and out on the street that if he loses, it's because he's black. If you say something negative, you're being racist and on and on an on. So you're saying they will lose the ability to cry foul if he wins thus they don't want him to win?
