I like this move alot..Man this helps the Braves beyond anything.

Teixeira and the Angels have to be the favorites to win the WS now..Not really sure that they weren't before this trade but this just makes it all that much more solidified.

^ Vlad and Tex...Sucks to be the pitcher facing them.

Arizona was the front runner to get Tex for a long time, I guess the Angels made a better offer in the long run or the Braves just preferred to ship him out West.

As much as I love the White Sox, the Angels have to be the favorite now in AL.

This lineup, just got a lot more potent. Does he hit in front or behind Vlad?

Behind IMO.

Well they say Arizona was the frontrunner but I never believed it..they only wanted to give up Chad Tracy and a prospect..And the Braves wanted Conor Jackson or one of their two top prospects and the D-Backs said no way.. So IMO they were never going to land him with that kind of package they offered.

Braves have Kotchman through 2011..If he produces the Braves could extend his contract, or atleast try....Also getting that prospect could also help in trading for Jason Bay if they wanted to revisit that idea...

But what really comes with this move is that it frees up money into the offseason that the Braves can use on pitching..They have options now that their offense is pretty much solidified..Only hole now is LF....This is also Mike Hampton's final year so there frees up some more money...

For the most part yes..but those were blocked prospects.

Spin it however you'd like. They moved a lot to get Tex, and didn't win with him. Now the end return is Kotchman and a prospect. Would you have moved all of those guys for what they got tonight???

No...I wouldn't have..but that's the way baseball works...Braves got the better deal with Teixeira..Salty has struggled all year, and the only standout player in the deal is Elvis Andrus.

But they made the trade for Teixeira expecting to win, injuries happened and pitching underperformed and they didn't win..Well coming into this year they were expected to compete but season ending injuries to John Smoltz and Tim Hudson and DL stints for Tom Glavine, Chipper Jones, Mark Kotsay, and Mike Hampton has grounded any chance the Braves had at competing.

This was a good deal for the Braves any way you look at it..They got a young 1st baseman in Kotchman and will be saving money that they can use on a pitcher in the offseason..

Wow. The Angels were extremely tough before this, now this just makes them even more scary.
