August 10, 200818 yr Author GT, A healthy Jones would be the starter for game #1, yes or no, in your opinion? Hard to say because part of the problem is completely rebuilding his mechanics. I thought it would be farther along with how hard I saw him working to get there in the spring and summer, but he still has a ways to go. I look for BK to find series and packages to use him in to help this year, and get him ready for next. I expected him to be the guy once the smoke cleared on Ben, but it simply hasn't happened physically yet...

If after a couple games he doesn't play well.. move on It's mostly centered around things he did in his two years as a starter. A lot of turnovers and poor decisions tend to stick in the mind of any fan base. I'm pulling hard for Dustin. We've talked quite a bit about KY HS sports when we've had the time. Great kid, and I think UC wins 9 games at worst with him at QB...
August 10, 200818 yr Author I don't remember Dustin being that error prone. Of course I only saw him twice. 20 TDs and 24 INTs in 05 and 06. Plus he was sacked 63 times. Not going to create a lot of internal optimism from some after what Ben did last year...
August 17, 200818 yr Looks like Pike has now jumped into the picture and is right there with Grutza. I was curious where he had been lately, because there was essentially no talk about him until earlier this week. Now, according to today's paper, it's a two man race between him and Grutza.

I was curious where he had been lately, because there was essentially no talk about him until earlier this week. Now, according to today's paper, it's a two man race between him and Grutza. BK is playing Bill a little (or more) here. This week was pretty much the last shot for Pike, and Dustin has sore ribs from a Barwin sack in last Saturday's scrimmage. They will be going with 3 QBs getting the majority of the reps starting Monday, and I'd be surprised if Pike is in that group over Anderson and Jones. Remember we saw the same at this point last year with Pike...
