I know its an opinion poll. And in my opinion JH doesn't belong being rated higher than either Highlands or CovCath at this point.

 

How many times do you feel the need to express that opinion...We got it already...It's clear you're convinced, but, please quit trying to downgrade every other opinion that happens to disagree with yours...:thumb:

I wonder what John Hardin's record would have been if they had played CCH's schedule last year.:confused:

As Namecips pointed out CovCath played a pretty brutal schedule last year. Two of those 7 losses were to Highlands. They lost to Cinti X. They lost to Dixie early in the season but atoned for it in the playoffs. I can't remember who the other losses were to, but there weren't many weak teams on CovCath's schedule last year. I can't believe I'm defending CovCath. :laugh:

 

Don't get me wrong; CovCath didn't have a great team last year. But if the reason JH's supposed to be really good this year is because they have so many returning starters, well by golly, then CovCath can be so good too as they have a lot of returning starters also. And until the teams from the west start beating the teams from the east with the regularity that the east has beaten the west, I'm still of the opinion that the better teams in the east are better than the better teams from the west. And CovCath will be one of, if not the, best teams in the east this year. Hence my logic, flawed as it may be to some. And I'm not saying JH doesn't have a really really good team this year. Heck they may win it all. But to put this bluntly, I've become a St. Thomas when it comes to talk about the teams from the west in 5A. Make me a believer, and I'll be one.

Okay, explain to me why when I express my opinion I'm downgrading some one else's opinion. I said nothing to indicate that I was downgrading your or anyone else's opinion. I simply disagreed and disagree with your's. If you feel that's downgrading, then you and I have a difference of opinion as to the what is downgrading. You posted your opinion and I posted why I thought Highlands and CovCath should be ranked higher than JH. In response, I got a sarcastic post from you saying that people think its a crime if Highlands isn't rated No. 1 and pointing our its an opinion poll (as if I wasn't smart enough to figure that out on my own). But hey, its been fun and I appreciate posters supporting their home teams and teams from their region.

I believe another loss was to Louisville St. X and possibly one other big Ohio team. Not sure on the last one though.

Like dude, LN is a HUGE Highlands fan, so of course he's got an opinion. He gave you the reasons why he's ranking HHS # 1. Where's your reasoning for ranking JH #1?

I guess I've gotten your boxers in a bunch. And if you look at this thread specifically, I made my initial post and you jumped in with your sarcastic post, to which I responded. If you didn't want me to make my point again, you shouldn't have made your post. I won't have a coronary about what some people think should be ranked No. 1. Based on the posts, I'm not sure I'm the one getting worked up about what team people think should be ranked no. 1.

 

As for other threads involving 5A teams and who should be ranked No. 1, I've already made several posts earlier in the year in other threads where I said that CovCath may deserve the No. 1 ranking (search my posts and you'll find them). Heck, I think a legit argument can be made by many that CovCath, with all their returning starters, should get the No. 1 ranking. Very talented and big returning O line; very good returning qb; second year under a new coach so they'll know his system much better this year than last, very strong program with championship tradition, etc. Last year, I was repeatedly saying before the season began that I believed that Dixie deserved the No. 1 ranking. So I don't think you are quite accurate in stating that I am the first to respond on any thread not listing Highlands as #1.

 

What bothers you is the fact that I make it clear that I'm not sold on the western 5A programs. And I am not. I admit it. That may change and JH may change it this year. We'll have to see.

Judging from last year, I only need to rank one team.
