July 26, 200818 yr I have the no line bifocals also. It wasn't too difficult for me to adjust to, but the monovision (bifocals) contact lenses were hard. One contact is for nearsightedness and one is for far-sightedness. The dr. said your brain just knows which eye to look out of depending on what distance is required. Odd, but it works.
July 26, 200818 yr Author Wait until you need trifocals then I can help you out! My husband as trifocals also and he tells me to stop whining:lol::lol:
July 26, 200818 yr I must have been lucky because I really didn't have a big problem adjusting to bifocals. My prescription isn't all that strong so maybe that has something to do with it, I don't know. My biggest beef is that I can't wear contacts anymore. Glasses get in the way.
July 26, 200818 yr Author If I turn my head the way I am suppose to everything is clear as it can be and I see great. Now, however, if I don't turn my head the right way it's like I'm getting ready to drop off the face of the earth. Everything is so blurry and it's like I get really anxious for a minute. Oh, I'll get it straight .....sometimes this year:lol::lol:

I can remember exactly when I knew I needed to go get bifocals. I was standing by the front door about four years ago. I had a small medicine bottle and I picked up and tried to read the small print on it and I couldn't. I had to get my wife to look at it for me. The strange thing is I had just read the bottle a couple of days before.

One minute I was crosstiching up a storm and the next minute I couldn't see the pattern unless I took my glasses off to look at it. I did this for a while until MrRk caught me and then it was off to the eye doctor. Which I am glad I went because I can see so much better except for the problem with these darn things. But it will get better and then I won't have anything to complain about...darn:irked::lol:

I wear the ones with the lines. I just couldn't get use to the no lines.
July 28, 200818 yr I'm nearsighted and have always worn glasses for seeing distant objects. But starting about 8 years ago I began having trouble seeing objects up close while wearing my nearsighted glasses. I've always been able to read the smallest of print without my glasses, even now at 54 years of age. But I had to go to bifocals in order to see up close and distant, with the same glasses.
