10th Region 2009

Campbell County will lose every starter on the field to graduation. Matt Coffman will catch and bolster the pitching staff. Bobby Estes hurt his arm during the summer league and may not be able to pitch at all. Ben Franzen will return and be very effective. Look for Coffman to step up and be the ace. The rest of the team will be from the JV team that had a very good year. Ryan Lauer will be the leading hitter as he hit 375 or so this year. The Camels will surprise some teams though. Another big surprise should be Petey Albricht at 6'5 and 220lbs. He hasnt played since his freshman year but absolutely kills the ball in summer league SWOL. Rebuilding year!!!!

This is not true. Estes will be back, may not pitch, but will be a returning starter. CC started 7 consistently, thus others who come with experience are Ben Franzen, Adam Broering, Matt Coffman and Ryan Lauer. That's four returning starters.

Harrison County is going to be the toughest team in the Region next year as they return everyone but Martin. It is going to be wide open other than that. As for Campbell County I do not think they will do hardly anything at all. They lost every starter due to graduation and now from what I hear they lost their Ace, Estes. That has rebuilding year written all over it. I do not think they are going to have what it takes to make it to the regional tournament again. Sorry but young and inexperience has a bigger impact on most teams than young talent does and in this case they wont have much of either one of those.

As for Scott being very good again, I'm not so sure. They will be good but I do not think as good as last year. They will no longer have that 1-2 pnch in the pitching rotation that they had last year. Yes, Murray is a very good ballplayer and will be a great leader but last time i checked you need three pitchers to win the regionals and having one pitcher in the season won't help you much either. However I do believe they will make it out of their district but I do not think they will come out as Champions.

The 37th District Championship will be back with the Brossart Mustangs this year. Their new coach Matt Grosser will follow right where Coach Rowe left off and will be a great head coach for this team. They did not lose much at all and are going to be very experienced. They will have great defense just like always and have a great pitching staff. Brossart almost beat Scott last year in the District in the 15-14 loss where there were 8 homeruns on what had to be the windiest night of the year. Brossart lost their number 1 pitcher, their second basemen/shortstop, and their right fielder. They also return a pitcher who was hurt all last year but is a very good pitcher. The pitching staff will be anchored by sophomore Travis Norton who was the number 2 or 3 pithcer last year as a freshmen. He also hit around .300 as a freshmen and plays center field. Look for him to develop into a fantastic player. Returning catcher Tony Woeste was the teams biggest power hitter last year who also hit for average. Brossart defeated Clark County and Harrison County last year within 3 days of each other. This shows the potential talent that this team has and I honestly believe Brossart has the best chance of any team to give Harrison a run at the regional title. Remember Brossart always comes ready to play when they have to in any sport. Thats just how they are. They will be a very dominant team in not only the 10th Region but also in all of Northen Kentucky.

Just to clarify, the Camels did not lose every starter. This team was 12 players deep as starters, with only 6-7 players who consistently were on the field at "Play Ball". They definitely lost their top two players and will be rebuilding, but have some very solid undercalssment who will step right into the picture with no intimidation at all.

Harrison will be #1. Brossart and the Camels will compete and both could challenge Harrison during the season. Borssart has severy undercalssmen that will keep this team in contention.

Harrison should be dominant. After losing only one everyday player and bringing back the talent they have it would be very dissapointing if they didnt bring home the tenth region title again. They have a very deep pitching staff along with some great gloves n bats. It should be interesting so see how it turns out.

Brandon Martin was the winning pitcher in all three Regional wins last year for Harrison Co. You never know what having only one pitcher can do.

Very true but alot of things feel into place for that for Brandon and the Breds.

It is very true thath could happen again but it'd have to have certain circumstances again.

I guess it depends on whether all the fatigued arms they had this summer are okay. They have the potential to be very good, but they also play the 9th Region this year if they win the 10th and are scheduled to play the 11th Region the following year. Not an easy task to say the least.

Watch out for Ty Combs and Cody Curtis as top players in the region. Remember those names!

Harrison also returns the starting pitcher, Turner I think? He was a freshman right?

Logan Dailey and Jared Martin were both regular starters in Harrisons pitching rotation last year. Neither had a loss last year as a pitcher. Dailey is a sophmore this year and Martin is a junior.

This is a little off topic but is Brandon Martin playing baseball anywhere at college?

I heard some interesting information from some of the Scott players after the Regional Championship last year between the Breds and Eagles.

I know Arkansas was interested in him, but I think he is going to stay closer to home. The last I heard is maybe Cumberland.
